Stanford did not play Stanford football, and SC looked anemic.

Mamba exaggerates a little. Neither team is going to be including that game in their highlight reels, but it wasn't quite that bad.

Both teams had some young/inexperienced guys playing in their first big game and it showed. The game was played at Stanford's pace. Overall, it was an entertaining game, but definitely not pretty. I posted that I was actually tired from watching that game.
Both teams will improve as the season goes on.

To be honest, I'm not up on the rest of the MW so I don't know, but I don't see them as a 1 win team for sure.

Not sure if you saw it or not, but most of their team gave up their summer break and stayed at school for the entire off season to hit the weights and work on their plays. They know the talk of ending football at the school and have tried to rally to not be the last class to play it.

I'm not saying they would give every other team in the conference problems, but strange things happen in early season games and Hawaii just isn't as bad as they were last year.

From what I have seen of Hawaii in the two games I think they are better than last year .
Northern Iowa next and then Colorado and Rice I think all three could be winnable.
as for the MWC
Wyoming San Jose UNLV and Nevada would be my guesses as games they could win.
San Diego, Utah State, Colorado State, and Fresno not so sure.
much more interesting than I would have expected at the start of the year though.

Everytime Furd got to the USC 30, Shaw put on some granny panties.

really didn't see much different. in my opinion its the same plays they have ran for years. power runs on 3rd and mid range yardage. in the past with gerhart,taylor they would convert. not as strong of a running game as in years past

Entirely possible with them spending their whole off season desperately trying to save their team that they were just in better game shape at this point and might already be as good as they will be while the two teams they played really have nowhere to go but up.

I won't be surprised if ND sweeps the PAC in its 3 games vs this conference. Best chance to beat ND as of today would be ASU.

Disagree strongly. Stanford's red zone performance was brutal, but I thought they were playing superb defense and expect them to Stanford their way to a glorious 23-13 gradual strangling. I don't think Notre Dame has anywhere near that kind of defense either, and suspect SC will be able to move the ball a bit more easily. It's more likely the Pac sweeps ND than goes 1-2 or 0-3 IMO, with ASU being the most likely loss since they're the weakest on the defensive front of the 3.

I agree. Notre dames defense in not Stanford or USC quality and Stanford will put a hurt on them , keep the scores low and win by 6. If USC played Notre Dame now I'd favor USC by 7 and I can't say later in the year when they actually play because the depth at SC might be an issue by then and make the game closer.

ND has Stanford @ home and with a 12:30 kick-off which I hate. But are on the road vs ASU and USC plus I think all three teams are significantly better than Rice or Michigan the only teams ND has faced to date.

If ND is legit they will beat Stanford and ASU. ASU just isn't as good as the talking heads want us to believe this year. ND beats them no matter what.

Stanfords going to be a handful, but at this pt I think the domers win it at home.

Doubtful. There's no rule against an AD being on the sideline or against them yelling at a ref. The only rule broken was that the text came from the sideline to the press box, but even that has no penalty associated with it.

Btw, Barry Alvarez did the same and was much more animated than Haden was.

How about common sense, common courtesy. His appearance was intended to intimidate or otherwise
influence the Refs. The coach didn't have the gonads to do it himself. I think the PAC 12 can and should expect that even from USC at USC.
