We also landed K.J. Carta-Samuels (6'2" - 228) with Petersens first class and redshirted him this past season. He was rated as one of the Top10 pro-style QBs in the nation and invited to U.S. Army All-American.

Browning will most likely redshirt next year. As pointed out, he'll need to hit the weight room a lot before starting in a college game. But between those two, Petersen is already telegraphing he'll be passing the ball a lot with his offense.

That stands to reason in the Pac RD. I sure like a "duel threat" QB as well, makes Ds think alot more. I honestly believe Coach P has the right OC in place. JS just needs the right tools and by the looks of you Huskies are moving in the right direction and with a possibility of a 9 win season this year who can really complain. I think Coach P's first season has been outstanding transitioning out of Sarksville.

Is that official mamba I'm not seeing anything

I think he's speculating, but that matchup makes a lot of sense for the Holiday Bowl. They get USC as a "local" team and Nebraska travels well. Plus 2 of the more storied programs in cfb.

USC website says the bowl and opponent will be announced at 2:30pm PST.

Definitely makes the most sense of any other possible Holiday Bowl matchups.

I've changed my mind about this playoff format. I thought eight teams would be right. But the four team playoff eliminates those on the verge right off; no patsies in the top four even though it may eliminate a deserving contender. Although that does present a dilemma for me: My most hated team v my second most hated team, in the Rose Bowl. Two Heisman's, Winston v MM. Most watched Rose in history?

Think we'll hear soon that Huskies get the Cactus bowl. 8-5, but no signature wins. It's what we deserve and I'm ok with that. Not bad for a 1st year coach moving to a Bigboy conf.

I'm sure the players won't mind a holiday break in Tempe. Good for recruiting and all those extra practices are a huge plus.

Congrats to Arizona for officially making the Fiesta Bowl. It does seem like the selection committee favors the PAC because I really thought Arizona's performance in the championship game would drop them quite a bit. Also helps that the Fiesta Bowl is in Arizona.

Someone mentioned that we might Oklahoma State in the Cactus Bowl. No idea if this is true, but if it is that should be a fun match up.

It should be about a body of work, not just one game. The rankings ended right. Their will always be some butthurt from a few that believe they deserve a better ranking. But overall, I'm glad it's being done by committee and much less chance of bias screwing someone over.

All in all, the 1st year of the CFP went about as smooth as it gets. They got it right.
