Overly harsh,,I agree that we got screwed because the NCAA wanted to "bag an elephant" so they could look like they are serious about enforcement. But the bottom line is that the Bush stuff happened. While I believe that USC did not know what was going on with Bush, we also only had one compliance person at the time.
The way the Bush stuff was done, it's entirely possible that we could have had 100 people in the compliance department and not known about it. But only having one made it look like we weren't taking compliance seriously. Honestly, I think it speaks to the integrity of our players that even with only 1 compliance person, the Bush family is the only thing the NCAA found re: the football program.
I understand your point and I don't completely disagree with the sentiment. However, playing college sports on an athletic scholarship is not a right, it's a privilege and these kids need to understand that. Much is expected of them, because much is given to them.
While I think that Josh Shaw's punishment was overly harsh, especially since he ended up not being charged. The fact is, he put himself in a bad situation and then proceeded to make it worse by trying to ditch the police when he had apparently done nothing more than have a loud argument with his girlfriend and then lying to his coaches and AD about it.

wow..Terron Ward #28 has played his last game perhaps as a Beav. He might play IF a bowl game were played/ Terrific lil' speedster option is know gone out of the offense.
Plug-n-play #1 I spose, this kid will do fine.
PAC 12 south is the most exciting division in cfb if you ask me.
Unreal. 5 very very good teams.
5 teams. 1 division. All ranked in top 19. When has that happened anywhere?
That sucks.
I see a lot of talkin heads picking Beavs to win straight up.
Team trending up?? I heard one of them saying UW is going to focus on the future now. I believe that to be a good move.
From what I've read, Josh Shaw has always been a real good kid. While I do think there is more to the story I agree with you Mamba let the kid play.Let the kid play.
He lied. He didn't physically harm anyone did he?
Gaining on SEC.
Just need Oregon to win out and claim NC.
Lolz and agree...Puddles ready to do a thousand push-ups this weekend?
I was looking at that the other day asking myself the same question. Pretty cool to see 5 pac 12 south teams ranked and 6 total with oregon. The conference as a whole has come such a longs ways; Makes for good football. I'm happy with the direction our conference is headed.
