Riley has had his bad apples, few and far between I spose. The only time I can remember in recent history was when Erickson coached the Beavers and they finished #3 in the country. He had some thugs back then.

I'll take being average to crappy anytime over having a team sprinkled with idiots worthy of dismissal yearly tho.

There has to be something between sucking ass and thug-U doesn't there?

I'm not saying I have bought into Petersen's "OKG" stuff. He did have some great kids who always played hard, but when you are only having to get up for 2-3 games a year including your bowl it's a whole different thing. I mean he will naturally get more 4* "OKG's" with a higher program, but how many of the kinds of kids that lead to these problems is he going to pass up and how will it impact the program? All of that remains to be seen. He can recruit and he can develop young talent, but can he put it all together at this level and deal with the increased scrutiny and higher expectations? No one knows and no one will know until at least his 3rd or 4th year as his kids start filling in the upper class of his roster.

As more is coming out about Peters and some of the others that have been booted and/or disciplined it is also becoming apparent that he does an outstanding job of keeping these things under wraps and in house. I don't think any of us thought there were this many problems between the kids and coaches. Peters wasn't a shock as he was disciplined under Sark's reign as well, but there are plenty of big attitude douches left as well and who knows how long until it's all cleaned up. Maybe booting Peters will get some of them to understand and get back in line.

If you told me I had to bet one way or another I'd say he will have a top 25 team consistently and the odd top 10 team, but that is a hunch, not fact.

Why do you care one way or another?

Speaking of UCLA and responding to the Sark apologist and his idiocy, we got to hear the replay of an interview Mora gave at the Pac12 media event to one of our broadcasters up here when he was asked if he really considered taking the UW job and what went into his decision not to. He said he couldn't tell those kids all those things about sacrificing for team and honor and all that and then go into the training room and look them in the face and be the hypocrite it would take to leave them. And that's why you have a coach worth respecting.
