Now I'm curious who the ptbnl is. Anyone on their 40 man of note?
It will get us past the draft, but won't it be a problem with the 40 man once he is announced? Won't it still require putting him on the 40 then?
Yeah, that is what Jamey Newberg suggested this morning. He noted that if the player is taken they probably have a backup player agreed to already. Not necessarily. The Rangers could be eyeing someone that they hope no one claims from Seattle in the Rule 5 draft.
If he clears the draft, I think the Rangers can make a trade w/o having to add him to their 40 this year.
Are there any rumors over there as to who the PTBNL is?I think the Mariners gave up on Jones a little quick and he could still be a decent player.
I like the #5 and #6 guy on that prospect list, but I doubt we are getting anyone ranked that high. Powell is #7 so he might fit into that category also. Here is a shot in the dark. Boog Powell Jr.

Yeah that was a HR crack of the bat. And an oppo shot to boot. We should wait on and see what he does on AAA. Let's hope he is fully healed. Baseball is a strange game. Profar due to injury or trade could be in the bigs after the break. I really am rooting for him

Just a big liberal spender.Ken Rosenthal is an idiot. he thinks we should go after Greinke or Price
I think any team would be foolish to give Price the big bucks with his performances in the postseason. A guy paid that much needs to perform well in the regular season and the postseason.Ken Rosenthal is an idiot. he thinks we should go after Greinke or Price
Not necessarily. There are many ways this could work out. By ST of 2017 Profar could be starting everyday for us in the middle of the infield. From what i've read it sounds like you guys may have to prepare for Profar to move off the middle of the diamond.
Maybe this year he's a zobrist type for you, and next year he slides in at 3B for beltre (whose contract is expiring after this year).
I think that seems like the best case scenario right now.

No he can play this year in the minors with no problems. He isn't out of options yet.I believe he's out of options. He needs to be in the bigs from day 1 or be exposed to waivers.
