Not necessarily. The Rangers could be eyeing someone that they hope no one claims from Seattle in the Rule 5 draft.

Yeah, that is what Jamey Newberg suggested this morning. He noted that if the player is taken they probably have a backup player agreed to already.

I like the #5 and #6 guy on that prospect list, but I doubt we are getting anyone ranked that high. Powell is #7 so he might fit into that category also.

Maybe this year he's a zobrist type for you, and next year he slides in at 3B for beltre (whose contract is expiring after this year).

I think that seems like the best case scenario right now.

I think any team would be foolish to give Price the big bucks with his performances in the postseason. A guy paid that much needs to perform well in the regular season and the postseason.

As far as Rosenthal goes, he has been wrong about the Rangers on numerous occasions. Every once in a great while he gets one right just like a broke clock is right twice a day.

Not necessarily. There are many ways this could work out. By ST of 2017 Profar could be starting everyday for us in the middle of the infield.

I read that too b/c of his lack of speed. Apparently he's lost a step. We'll see.

No he can play this year in the minors with no problems. He isn't out of options yet.
