I'm currently a post-doctoral research scientist (national laboratory). I am conceding to the logical career progression and applying to become an indoctronairre of the youth... ummm I mean, Professor at University level. (Areas: either Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or joint appointment)

specifically what sucks about applying for these jobs (as compared to a more 'normal' job) is that instead of changing 2-3 lines of a resume, you're changing 4-5 pages of research proposal, teaching interest, and cover letter
