It all stayed south. Inlaws got hit pretty hard in Maple Grove, we took my generator there Saturday to keep fridge cold and run sump pump.

I have a 6200 watt.
But you could run a fridge, sump pump, tv, lamps and computer on 3000 watt.
The only reason I bought such a big one is because my old 3500 watt wouldn't run tv, playstation, fan and ac in the travel trailer for brainerd. I was looking for a 4500 watt, but got such a deal on the one I bought, I couldn't pass it up.

well if you cut the main breaker in the house .. couldnt you get a cord with 2 male ends and plug into an outside outlet and back feed the house?

You can get the house set up for a backup generator, and have it plug right in. Flip a switch and everything converts over.

Just get the wiring and do it yourself. Don't buy the backup generator, just have a portable 6000 watt.
Fuck it, I'm going for it on my next house..lol
