Alex Tanguay is now experiencing a hip problem related to his recovery from a knee injury that will continue to keep him out indefinitely.

I don't understand why teams are so hush-hush about this. If this action came from the players/NHLPA I can understand, but man it bugs me...mostly because I just really want to know the specifics because I'm a geek.

They don't want other teams targeting that specific area, even if teams have an idea of what it might be - it's annoying sometimes but I understand it

But it happens regardless. I dunno, being vague isn't going to keep some other team from trying to hit you on your first game back. Let's use the Malkin example. We don't know what specifically his injury is, but we know it's lower body, and when you watch the video you can tell it's his left leg. If I'm an NHL player, I think I'm probably just gonna try to hit him against the boards more than anything...I guess I just don't think it's some magical fodder. Frankly, I'm being selfish. Injuries are my thing...

It's a primary symptom of a traumatic brain injury, and considering this was secondary to his head getting smashed into the boards, and he has a stiff neck...he should probably be cautious. That's my point. The Flyers aren't really handling his situation with caution. He didn't retake the baseline test because the doctors felt he "felt good enough" in their exam. That's fine and dandy, but the guy is telling you he doesn't remember the play. That's reason enough to give them the ImPACT. There's no reason to not administer a fairly simple test.
