Maybe it's just me, but that 64-man roster seems rather large when only 22-23 of them will actually make the big squad. It's not a bad thing. We will get a look at a lot of different players from all walks of life. This will promote a lot of competition and give Hexy an idea where a lot of his prospects stand.

We play 2 games on the 26th, then 1 one the 27th and 28th. Add in the guys playing in the WC and it really isn't that big. Things will thin out pretty quickly after the 1st 3 days.

Canada's sitting G, Muzzin and Holtby. G may be precautionary which is fine by me but they'd be retarded not to play him when the important games start Tue against USA. Fact remains he's one of the best PP forwards in hockey and has the most points since 2011.

I'm pretty shocked that both G and Holtby are a healthy scratch. I'm not a religious person, so I can say this. If God were to make a hockey team out of current players, both of these guys would be starting.

Thornton is 37 and you're starting him over Giroux at 28, likely just entering his prime. They just said Canada was 3 for 15 on the power play. G won't hurt those numbers. Holtby just won the Vezina and he's not even the backup, let alone the starter? Are you shitting me!?

I love hockey, Canadians (etc.), but for the purposes of this conversation, Fuck Canada, I hope they somehow lose tonight and these decisions bite them in the ass in a way...Lol

Babcock definitely has something on G but Hexy may have told him that if if there is anything slightly wrong with him sit him out! First game I agree but G should be playing over numerous Especially guys like kunitz, O'Reilly, Duchesne, etc...

Watch Neuvy pitch a shutout against Canada and the top two teams in Group A start out 0-2.

Not likely to happen, but every team in this tournament is actually pretty solid.

I can safely root for the Czech's with Neuvy starting, Voracek too...and Giroux on the bench.

Well, Neuvy and Voracek look good, but this thing already appears to be over. Team USA really didn't show up at all in the first game and Canada learned from it.

Canada not only learned from it but destroyed a Decent team with unbelievable goaltending from Neuvy. G will only make them better. I'll even give Crosby props he played well and didn't whine maybe he's growing up....

So, I'm wondering. What in the hell happens if Canada goes 3-0 and the other three Group A teams go 1-2? How on earth do they decide the second qualifying team?

If Czech beat Europe and Canada beats USA and Europe, this is entirely possible. USA would have to beat Czech in the last game and all of them would be tied for second at 1-2.
