What do you think Vanek will get in FA? Possible if Vinny gets moved that Vanek could play with G and Voracek?

He's going to get too much in FA, and I think he would go to Minnesota anyways

obviously some hurdles (ie 7 mil cap hit) but what do you guys think about spezza? word is the sens are shopping him... him and giroux would make a dynamite 1-2 combo up the middle if they could pull it off. if they can move vinny's salary?

though.. i guess he's a little old.. and you still have a logjam in the middle if you try to keep schenn at center.. i dno, just spitballing.. i want more creativity on the 2nd line

I would think the asking price for him would be a trade deadline type of deal, an NHL ready player(Brayden Schenn), a prospect possibly and a first rounder

It would be hard because of the salary but that is an interesting scenario

I'm sure he will get an absurd amount in FA. If he does go to Minnesota, how the hell would they be able to add him to the Suter and Parise contracts and still field a respectable squad?

Rangers aren't winning the Stanley Cup, teams that have to go 7 games in the first two series usually doesn't bode well - as a 1 seed they went 7 games the first two series and it came back to bite them, the Rangers have had a hellacious schedule and to me I think they're going to eventually be cooked

I think the winner of the Bruins/Habs series will represent the East, and I still wouldn't count the Habs out - if they win Game 6 tonight, then Game 7 will be real interesting - Carey Price could steal a game like that and P.K. Subban could be the difference maker

ya i dont think the rangers will win the cup either, eventually they will run in to a team that just has too much talent for them (ie, anyone in the west except maybe the wild, who are unlikely to get there anyway). i just think they'll beat the pens.

i agree, habs or bruins will represent the east. i'm actually shocked the habs have put up a fight against the bruins, props to them.

ha, read almost the exact same thing on twitter or some blog yesterday. i wonder if he'll still claim that with the sens shopping him and coming off a couple down seasons (likely through no fault of his own, the sens just aren't very good).

i don't think i'd do all 3.. and i really dont like trading schenn for a 30 yr old, but i would consider schenn and a prospect, or schenn and a 1st. maybe. i dno, it's a tough one for sure. probably not the part of the roster where the flyers should use a piece like schenn if they're going to move him.

I think he's going to a Western Conference team anyways - maybe St. Louis - or even Nashville - maybe Nashville would give up a Filip Forsberg, Ryan Ellis and a 1st for him - not sure if Ryan Ellis is what Ottawa wants on defense but that'd be an interesting trade scenario

List of top players rumored to be available for trade:

Ryan Kesler
Dion Phaneuf
Evander Kane
Dustin Byfuglien
Jason Spezza
Any Oilers forward not named Taylor Hall
Florida's first overall pick
Evgeni Malkin
Alex Edler

Who would you most want and for what?

Ryan Kesler - Brayden Schenn
Dion Phaneuf - Gus, Mcginn, 2nd (probably not happening, dont really want phaneuf though)
Evander Kane - Laughton, 2014 1st, 2014 2nd
Dustin Byfuglien
Jason Spezza - Brayden Schenn and a 2nd (and vinny if they want him?)
Any Oilers forward not named Taylor Hall
Florida's first overall pick
Evgeni Malkin

Alex Edler

red means i don't want them haha

to be honest, i'm not sure if there's enough value from the flyers side on any of those trades.. but i think that's my limit. i like the way the flyers are going, they just need patience.

Could B Schenn and a 2nd get Evander Kane? I'd love that trade.

List of top players rumored to be available for trade:

Ryan Kesler - Brayden Schenn and draft picks
Dion Phaneuf - Absolutely not
Evander Kane - Like his talent but price will be too high most likely
Dustin Byfuglien - He doesn't really fit the Flyers plans as far as speed goes
Jason Spezza - Yellow is for on the fence, I like him but not sure how they can fit his salary
Any Oilers forward not named Taylor Hall - Probably Eberle, not sure what it'd honestly take though
Florida's first overall pick - Not sure what the value would be honestly
Evgeni Malkin - Penguins won't trade him to Flyers
Alex Edler - Absolutely not

Who would you most want and for what?

Looking at that list, Ryan Kesler and Florida's first overall pick are the most intriguing to me - I like Kesler in that his salary isn't too high and I think there's only a few years left on it - and Florida might be interested in a guy like Brayden Schenn who's been in the league for a few years and maybe our first rounder - not sure if that's equal value or not considering it is first overall, but who knows - personally I would go after Kesler because then if you move Brayden Schenn, you can replace him with someone else right away - if you move Brayden Schenn for someone who isn't a center it might be more difficult to replace

I don't understand the mass majority wanting to move B. Schenn right now. He is 22. This reeks of the JVR situation where we will look back on it in a year or two and regret the move. For once I would like the Flyers to continue to be patient, let the younger players develop and lose the win now at all costs mentality. It kills the books and the future.

It's not about winning now, the difference is that the Flyers are stacked at center, and they really do need the help on the wing(now JVR being not being traded could have mitigated this) - I wouldn't move him unless they get a great offer but you have to at least listen
