I thought they would go for a receiver like Lee instead of a QB turned LB

I wanted him too but he's still available, I don't think he'll still be there when the Eagles pick unless they trade up - there's a deep number of WR's available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and the Eagles got an extra pick so they should be able to find someone

Lee had some injury which cost his draft status to slip. I'm ok w the first pick. The Eagles desperately need a pass rusher. Hope this pans out. Tonight I believe the Eagles get there WR. Names I look for are Lee, Jordan Mathews, or Benjamin.

Carolina took him last night

As for the other guys, with three picks they'll definitely get a WR - they could move up too if they wanted

Michael Sam on the Rams I haven't got a break from the jokes since they drafted him.

Cant believe ESPN stayed with that shot the whole time.

Hahahahahaha I've heard em all this weekend.

I didn't hear about a color change but why not we need to do something with Seattle SF and Arizona in our division.

I think that's exactly why he fell so far - it's not that teams didn't want an openly gay player in the locker room. They didn't want the ridiculous media coverage.

I guess this is true but I cant believe a co defensive player of the year in the SEC would drop to the 7th round

How is Patrick Maroon an everyday player for a team like Anaheim and he didn't make our big club.

Regarding the Maroon trade:

"The other angle to this deal of course is that Pat Maroon is finally out of the organization after a much-publicized falling out a few weeks ago. Many questioned whether or not Maroon had any trade value whatsoever after the Flyers basically said he was a terrible locker room presence..."

He is undersized and doesn't really have a position in the NFL. He is too stiff and slow to play OLB and too small to play DE. Not to mention his combine numbers were horrific. He is only a situational pass rusher at this point with very little upside. I was surprised he was drafted at all with the way he performed in post-season work-outs.

He must have some talent winning co defensive player of the year in the SEC is pretty good. Its not like he did that in the Patriot division the SEC is the premiere college football league with several pros on every team.

I haven't heard anything about his locker room presence since he went to Anaheim. Maybe we missed the boat on this guy. We could've certainly used him instead of a guy like Mcginn who I thought was good until his last call up.

NCAA success means next to nothing when it comes to NFL success. Two completely different games and levels of comp.

I realize the two leagues are vastly different and success isn't always there for players who had college success case in point Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf. My point here is that even though college success doesn't always translate into the pros his draft selection went to the 7th round. I like to know the last time an SEC defensive player of the year dropped passed the first round no less to the 7th.

Interesting, only 1 other SEC DPOY has been drafted after the 2nd round in the last decade. Now to be fair, before his announcement, Sam was projected in 4-7 rounds. After his combine it was moved to 5-undrafted.
