I don't think morin or sanheim will make the team and they'll have to go back to juniors.

Hagg or ghost maybe though!

I've only watched Hagg one game (probably too small of a sample) but think the Ghost has a way better shot at making the team.

I'd say whoever earns it in camp I'm not writing anyone off but it would be nice to see the rookies push the vets.

I agree I think that would make them all better and that could only bare well for our current crop and the future also.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hagg or Ghost make an appearance or two during the season due to injuries and stuff. I don't think any of the young guys will make the team out of camp though (except MAYBE Laughton). Sanheim and Morin won't be available for mid-season callups.

This just proves the serious lack of speed on the Flyers, even if Rosehill is truly somewhat fast in a straight line.

I feel ya, biggest problem for my Pens is lack of speed & we let Brian Gibbons go who was our only speedster last season

I disagree. Yes, the D certainly has below average speed, but the forward group is only average at best.

This column using the Rags as an example is slanted. The rags are one of the fastest teams in the league because they are small and don't hit anyone so most teams compared to the Rags are slower. secondly we went to game 7 with them and would have won if we didn't have to play Emery the first three. If we win that series this article doesn't exist. Fast guys Voracek, Simmonds, Gee, Coots, Schenn, Read Rinaldo that's 7 on 4 lines. We may not be the fastest up front but are faster than most teams.

I'd have Simmonds at above average, but that's just nit picking.

Flyers could use more speed throughout the lineup IMO, but I think a lot of the 'team speed' thing is dependent on how you play the game. If you keep outstanding possession of the puck, you don't really have to be ultra quick. The puck is always going to move faster than a player, so if you're positioned correctly, you can play that game without being super fast.

The Flyers 1. don't have the overall hockey IQ to play like that and 2. Berube wants to be a 'hunt the puck' team, which requires a lot of speed.

The Avs are a super fast team that play a super 'hunt the puck' type of game. I'd love to see the flyers model their game/roster similar to what they have going. It's not as physical, but man does it tear up the ice. I find them very exciting to watch, and I think they're going to be a serious threat this year.

I didn't see the game last night but I just looked at our line up compared to theirs and we had a minor league team out there and they played most of their regulars.
