Barry Trots in Washington Will he make them a contender?

If they make a couple of tweaks they can get back into the playoffs - they should sign a guy like Jonas Hiller to pair with Braden Holtby, but at that point they could have just re-signed Halak

I think they need desperately to improve their 5 on 5 play maybe Trots could help with that. If they don't make the playoffs next year its' time to blow it up in DC,

I think goaltending is key, we'll see what happens there - and 5 on 5 does need to be better, maybe they add another forward who can get some offense in that category

If their defense improves they won't have to score a bunch of goals just to win games

I agreed with every one of his answers but lets face it they where some soft questions. I would've asked how will the presence of Hextall effect the team and or the draft.

Well he did say that he wouldn't be that involved in the draft, and the scouts would be more so - but I'm sure he will have some input in player personnel, as far as wanting more speed in the lineup

I'm glad someone asked about moving G to the wing. I've been thinking about that a lot. He was a RW in juniors and with the glut of centers the flyers have had the past few years, moving G to the wing was never mentioned.

I don't really blame them for not doing it, as G has been terrific in the middle. I just wonder if moving G to wing instead of Briere, Lecavalier, or Schenn might've been more helpful on the whole. Give a little bit in terms of G's impact, to gain a lot from one of the other 3?

Berube's response puts an end to wondering about that though haha

Hey Las. Worked a double on memorial day.. Lol. Home for a few days before I head back. I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday. Kings vs Habs it appears.. I hope the king's pull a sweep. I'm jealous of all the success that the flyers west are having... Bring some of that our way.:noidea:

heh, same here... just as long as people don't start freaking out about the trades again. regardless of the success the kings are having, the flyers still made out in those deals.

definitely sucks to see carter be so effective there though.

I don't know about Kings vs Habs but it was nice to see the Rags get spanked last night and even better to see Lundqvist get yanked. Gotta remember the Kings have Quick and we had Michael Leighton that's huge difference.

We made out great in that trade IMO and even though Carter is scoring for the Kings I still remember game 6 of the cup finals when he missed that wide open net which would've forced a game 7. Hope it winds up Kings vs Habs this year .

That's all I can think about whenever anyone mentions Carter. I think it was something like 26 seconds left and he was all alone in front of the net and shot it right into the dead center of Niemi's stick as he was diving across the crease. What a hack...

Getting kinda excited for the draft now. Wish work wasn't so busy so I could study it :)

I'm really excited to see is Hextall takes a different approach than the past few years. Been a lot of emphasis on defensemen the past two years, gotta wonder how the changes.

Nitty being a scout now also excites me. Can't go wrong with drafting Finnish goalies. I think he said he'd also be keeping his eyes open for any players, also.
