I really would like Danny B to get his name etched onto the cup.

Rags in 7. This year for the Rags reeks of 2010 when a mediocre Flyers team somehow came together at the right time and with the right draws made it to the Finals.

For the Finals, (insert Western Conference team here) over the Rags in 6.

i agree to an extent with this, but odds aren't in their favor. back to back 7 game series usually means trouble for teams. though, they're probably over the hump. 6 games in 9 nights or whatever it was after the first few in the pens series was ridiculous and they got through that.

From ESPN:

Fatal Flaw

Rangers: Fatigue
After falling behind the Penguins 3-1 in the second round, head coach Alain Vigneault noted that the Rangers' schedule, which had them playing five games in seven nights, was a factor. The conference final schedule won't be so onerous, and the Eastern Conference finals don't start until Saturday afternoon. But the fact remains: The Rangers have already played 14 games, three more than their opponents from Montreal. Will it matter? At some point, the playoffs always become a war of attrition, and the Rangers expended considerable emotion in coming back from the 3-1 deficit against the Penguins. There was also the emotional challenge of helping a teammate, St. Louis, deal with the sudden death of his mother.
Canadiens: Durability
While the Canadiens had a different emotional expenditure against the Bruins, they did have to win two straight elimination games, including one in Boston, and it's fair to say the Bruins exacted a far more physical toll on the Habs than the Penguins did against the Rangers. It will be a significant challenge for the Canadiens to put behind them the satisfaction of having dispatched a longtime foe in an often bitter, angry series.

This series might be decided in the first couple of games by the team that can find that emotional Zen more quickly than its opponent and establish a tone.

Bylsma and Shero fired in Pittsburgh, philly bloggers talking about him as the assistant GM now. no way he doesn't get hired as the primary GM somewhere

Wow I new changes were coming but I didn't think it would be both of them.

:agree: I wish them both the best, but it was time to go in a new direction.

Shit I wanted Shero in Philly for the longest time. If Hextall went elsewhere, no doubt Shero would be our GM. Timing is everything.

Someone help me out. I don't understand why Shero is thought of as a great GM. I think I may be ignorant to what he's done. I mean he hit on some number 1 picks in Crosby, Malkin and Fleury. All of which were no brainers I believe. The Pens won 1 cup with those guys. Shero signed some REDICULOUS CONTRACTS and seems to have the Pens salary cap strapped with long term, huge money deals to Crosby, Malkin, Letang and throw Neal in there. He didn't seem to make any great finds in FA or trades to get Pittsburgh another cup in my opinion. He made deals, but they didn't work out in the end.

Now please don't jump down my throat. I fully admit I don't think I am educated enough on his tenure. I am just looking for some feedback as to why he has this great reputation as a stellar GM. Thanks boys.

I think Shero came there after they made those draft picks

But he did give some ridiculous contracts and while he was trying to win, he made some stupid moves in the process - he made a good trade in getting Neal and Matt Niskanen for Goligoski and he made that trade for Chris Kunitz which was pretty good, but the rest were meh

NHL Network is saying that it's just Shero who got fired. Disco Dan is still being evaluated, possibly for GM? That has to be a joke, eh? Where is Dooby when u need him?

Must say, this is really goofy. I would rather keep Shero and fire Bylsma, but I guess we're going to do the exact opposite…
