I don't see how I'm trolling by pointing out that we were mediocre and lost to unranked teams like Iowa State.

In fact, from 1973-1978 we dropped games to the following UNRANKED opponents in this order:

Missouri, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Missouri, LSU, Iowa State, Washington State, Iowa State, Missouri.

Nebraska lost 2 times (1976, 1977) to Iowa St in the 70's (NOT 3 like you said in a previous post).

Iowa St WAS ranked in the Final 1976 polls.

#18 in the Coaches
#19 in the AP

So that makes three errors in your post.

As I said before. LSU and Oklahoma St were ties.

I'm not trolling.

I'm just being for real. Nebraska is not even close to the powerhouse that we have all believed it is for years.

Shit, since 1997 both Michigan and Nebraska took a nose dive. However, for whatever reason, Michigan has continued to pull in 5 star recruits without even trying and Nebraska celebrates when it gets a diamond in the rough.

The reason is simple. People outside of the state of Michigan actually consider Michigan to be a powerhouse.

We ran through a shitty conference for years and racked up a bunch of wins. That is all we did.

I respectfully disagree with your opinions. Trust me, I used to believe it......but after 17 years of mediocrity and seeing no increase in recruiting talent......I don't believe it anymore. We are just Nebraska, and that is not good enough to be great all the time.

I've noticed throughout this whole year he has called out "Omaha" more than any other call.

I wonder what it is that he sees when he calls it

On ESPN they explained it one night but I don't remember. The "O" stood for something that he saw

You are exaggerating again.

Nebraska has been 3rd tier or worse for about 12 years now. Only "mediocre or worse" 3 maybe 4 of those years.

9 or 10 wins (8 of those years) is above "mediocre".

I think it's for snap count. Sometimes if it's not snapped on Omaha he follows with a quick "hut", then it's snapped.

1. O
2. ma
3. ha
4. hut

See, I disagree.

I think any team can win 9 games. I just think that most teams fail to do it when they lose a few games and their coaching staff is not good enough to get them back on track.

To me, a mediocre team is a 9 win team. A lot of 9 wins teams out there are no better than a lot of 7 win teams out there.

HP just simmer down, man.....

I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just don't believe anymore that we are werld beaters by nature. If we go on a streak here and start winning Conference Championships, I'll start to reconsider. But for now, I really just believe that back in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's the talent across the nation was thin.....and nowadays parity is a real thing.

I mean, one thing you have to remember is that even in the 90's when we went crazy and won everything.......we did it with a SHIT TON of walk-ons.

It was quite remarkable. We didn't have the recruits that Florida had that year that we killed them.......but we had far more heart. I mean, we had some good ones, don't get me wrong.......but we relied on kern fed kids a lot.

What yer failing to realize is Nebraska was the first school that I'm aware of to start the strength and conditioning program. That alone helped make us one of the elites.

What you called steroid use, was leaps and bounds above the rest.

I really do believe thar was some steroid use in the 90's.....

I wish it wasn't true, but I'm pretty sure it is based off of things I've heard.
