The Power of RED
I seem to remember a time when Thomas Osborne could have tied a game and won a National Title.
You don't remember shit..... Ye wus jest a tinkle in yer daddies eye back then.....
I seem to remember a time when Thomas Osborne could have tied a game and won a National Title.
I don't see how I'm trolling by pointing out that we were mediocre and lost to unranked teams like Iowa State.
In fact, from 1973-1978 we dropped games to the following UNRANKED opponents in this order:
Missouri, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Missouri, LSU, Iowa State, Washington State, Iowa State, Missouri.

You guys are right. We are a powerhouse!!!
That must be why the best recruits have always wanted to come here
We ran through a shitty conference for years and racked up a bunch of wins. That is all we did.
I respectfully disagree with your opinions. Trust me, I used to believe it......but after 17 years of mediocrity and seeing no increase in recruiting talent......I don't believe it anymore. We are just Nebraska, and that is not good enough to be great all the time.
I'm not trolling.
I'm just being for real. Nebraska is not even close to the powerhouse that we have all believed it is for years.
Shit, since 1997 both Michigan and Nebraska took a nose dive. However, for whatever reason, Michigan has continued to pull in 5 star recruits without even trying and Nebraska celebrates when it gets a diamond in the rough.
The reason is simple. People outside of the state of Michigan actually consider Michigan to be a powerhouse.
You are exaggerating again.
Nebraska has been 3rd tier or worse for about 12 years now. Only "mediocre or worse" 3 maybe 4 of those years.
9 or 10 wins (8 of those years) is above "mediocre".
HP just simmer down, man.....
I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just don't believe anymore that we are werld beaters by nature. If we go on a streak here and start winning Conference Championships, I'll start to reconsider. But for now, I really just believe that back in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's the talent across the nation was thin.....and nowadays parity is a real thing.
