I'm used to seeing a team being dreadful in the final third. I'm a Southampton Saints fan.

As someone who had to watch Portugal play with Nuno Gomes, Pauleta and Hugo Almeida as striker for years until finally Ronaldo took the role, I feel ya.

Same vibes here - even had a Portuguese midfielder shoveling ball after ball up the field for them to boot.

Today sucked balls. Pure and simple.

I love the hustle displayed by Canada. They went hockey mode and forechecked and came racing back to back check like motherfuckers.

But aside from the penalty, every time the ball was there for somebody, they either took too long, took too many steps or rushed things.

The game was there for them.

If the foul against Ronaldo on the disallowed goal was called you can’t be too mad that the pen was called.

The more I watch these games the more upset I am that Canada didn’t come away from the Belgium match with at least a point.

I hear ya - You have to be clinical when provided opportunities and Belgium was. Still bugs me that Canada was not awarded a second penalty kick though, I mean what's the point of VAR when Witsel steps on Laryea's foot in the box taking him down and no penalty kick is awarded?
