Reminds me of the time Iggy was interviewed during a winter storm in Boston - The reporter had no idea who he was lol

The Harry Kane sale is reminding me a lot of the Garett Bale sale ten years ago (holy shit) - taking forever and then once it’s done Spurs buy a shit ton of random players at once. And we all remember how well that worked out for Tottenham.
I’d argue they were a much better team after the Bale sale. Just as much success. lol

They had just as many Prem wins the next season with Adebayor their leading scorer with 13, so, I guess they weren’t really any worse. Eliminated a round earlier in Europa too.

They just made so many bad big-money signings - Soldado, Lamela, Paulinho - when some good strategy that summer could’ve landed them some great players for that spend (they did get Eriksen for insanely cheap, to their credit). Could’ve had Callejon, Benatia and Strootman just for the Soldado outlay. Hell, Sturridge went to Liverpool for a song that summer and he had already had a relationship with AVB (a lot of this boils down to AVB just not being a great manager as well so).

Just always saw it as a wasted opportunity.

Sounds eerily like the start of the KHL and then LIV.

I mean at this rate Saudi league might be better than Ligue 1 come September.

Hey, there’s a FIFA event starting soon.

How come Canada doesn’t have a team nickname?
