I think Barca's unstoppable right now regardless but playing 3 at the back Pep was asking for it, especially without RiRo to cause Barca problems on the wings.
Boateng has had a rough tournament for a while now too. He looked awful against Porto and - while defending Messi is no easy task for anyone - looked a second league player yesterday.

Strong performance overall by the Whitecaps last night (other than the first 15-20 minutes) with the 3-0 win. I am so looking forward to next Saturday vs the Sounders. The wifeage and I are going to be right in the heart of the Southsiders section for that one. woot!

i think they should start lighting flares in protest!

A big banner seemed so out of place at BMO Field on Sunday night that MLSE’s head honcho asked supporters to take it down.

Prior to Toronto FC’s first home match of the 2015 season, the club’s passionate south-end supporters taped up a massive banner along the railing: “No Argos @ BMO”.

But when MLSE CEO Tim Leiweke spotted the protest banner, the company’s top boss, who championed BMO Field’s renovations, walked down to have it removed.

“Tim Leiweke came all the way from his suite with 6 cops and 5 other MLSE employees to ask us to take down the #NoArgosAtBMO banner,” Michael Przybylowski, a fan in attendance on Sunday, posted to Twitter.

According to those in the vicinity of the protest, Leiweke simply asked supporters to “support” the players, especially with the game airing nationally in the United States.

A fraction of Toronto FC supporters have remained staunchly against the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts potentially moving into BMO Field.

With all signs pointing to that becoming a reality in the near future, Toronto FC supporters were eager to have their voices heard Sunday afternoon.

“Today is about TFC and the start of great things,” Dave Haggith, MLSE’s senior director of communications, wrote to Twitter in response to the banner.

Sunday’s short-lived protest was out of concern that the CFL coming to BMO Field could ruin Toronto FC’s playing surface.

Through it all, MLSE has maintained that BMO Field was built to be a multi-purpose venue.

The company claims it has also taken steps to ensure Toronto FC’s pitch will remain in top shape regardless of potential gridiron games that could arrive as early as 2016.

“At the end of the day, it’s first, TFC. Second, TFC. Third, TFC,” Leiweke told the Toronto Sun last week. “If you go to a TFC game, you won’t notice a setup different than this.”

The second phase of BMO Field’s current renovation plan is scheduled to begin at the conclusion of the current MLS season.

Phase 2 will see a canopy roof installed above the east, south and west stands.

Should PCL construction be given the green light by all the parties involved, Phase 2 will also see BMO Field’s north stand replaced by retractable terraces to make room for an extended CFL field.

My company did some subcontracting work for PCL on BMO and we were given about 100 tickets to last night's game. Went with a few friends. It really needs the covering over the seats and a soccer team worth investing two hours of a Sunday for. It also seems most of the contractors are using the tunnel under the rail tracks leading to the station to get to/from site and Metrolinx has done no cleaning in that tunnel in about a year - somebody owes me $150 for my destroyed brand new white shoes.

This one started out looking like Bayern might do it again on the return leg, scoring just 7 minutes in.

Barca just too good for that type of game though.

But...but...freedom of speech (lol)

What exactly did he say that warrants being fired? He wasn't the one that yelled it in the first place, he just thought it was funny.

Maybe I'm confused, I thought the guy who shouted the vulgarities is the guy who got canned, is it the guy who thought it was funny? I guess it's another case of life imitating hockey, rarely do the refs get the first offense, they'll flag the retaliation.

I guess this is another reason the red mile was toned down this year

"In Calgary, police have issued a statement to broadcasters that the activity constitutes grounds for a charge and arrest. "We haven’t taken it as far as what Calgary has done because in Calgary apparently it was quite rampant and quite common,” Kwong said."

I don't have much empathy for the guy who got canned - I mean if he was too drunk or too stupid (probably both) to realize his words could come back to fire his ass, well he certainly knows now. Just like the guy who tweeted out the Lupul - Phaneuf tweet during the trade deadline, sure he meant it as a joke, but these days your recorded words and tweets can bite you in the butt.
