Came across an interesting stat/bit of info stat today about Burrow that I've never seen discussed anywhere is how absent he is in the 4th quarter of playoff games. He has played 7 games in the post season thus far in his career including the Super Bowl. Only one time in the 4th quarter of those 7 postseason games has he led the Bengals offense to scoring a TD. That one time too was with a short field where the offense started the drive with the ball in the other teams territory after the defense forced a turnover. In fact the Bengals defense has scored as many touchdowns in the 4th quarter of Bengals playoff games as Burrow has (1). Other than that Burrow has led the Bengals offense to 4 field goals in the 4th quarter of postseason games, all 4 coming in separate games.

So as much praise as he gets, he hasn't really shown up in any big ways in the 4th of playoff games.

1) FG

2) FG

3) FG

4 (Super Bowl) 0 points

5) 0 points

6) FG

7 (AFC Championship Loss) TD

Compare that to Jalen Hurts in the 4th quarter of postseason games and we have:

1) 2 TDs and a 2 pt conversion

2) TD and a FG

3) FG

4) TD and a 2 pt conversion

Gotta link? You once said Carson Wentz was elite.

It's fair to question things you post when so far you have no source.

Joe Burrow can disappear?! That’s crazy! Maybe he could find a way to use that on the football field…

To add onto this, in 7 postseason games Burrow has led the Bengals to 156 points scored (22.3 PPG).

Jalen Hurts by comparison in 4 postseason games has led the Eagles to 119 points scored (29.8 PPG).

Every other postseason game he has played in was a 1 score game with the exception of the week before the Bills game when they won by 10 points against the Lamar Jacksonless Ravens thanks to a 98 yard fumble return for a TD by the Bengals defense in the 4th quarter.

Jalen Hurts:
4 playoff games; record 2-2
Passing yards per game: 209
Passing TDs: 4

Burrow:
7 playoff games; record 5-2
Passing yards per game: 261
Passing TDs: 9

Let's correct those numbers a bit. Jalen Hurts has 9 total TDs scored in 4 playoff games and averages 255 total yards per game.

As this exercise shows of 4th quarter performance and PPG in the playoffs its clear that Burrow has benefited greatly from the play of his defense. Meanwhile I'd not for Hurts' defense not showing up st all in the Super Bowl then he would have a Super Bowl ring to go along with his incredible Super Bowl performance.

Also should be noted that Joe Burrow has 2 interceptions in the 4th quarter of his 7 postseason games. 0 TD passes and only 1 TD drive (that started at the 45 yard line of the other team) in the 4th quarter of the postseason but 2 interceptions.

Meanwhile Jalen Hurts has never turned the ball over in the 4th quarter of a postseason game.

Goddamn I hope I wasn't like this after the Bears lost the Super Bowl. "Rex Grossman has 3 more than TD's than Joe Flacco in 3rd quarters on games not played on a Sunday...Awww yeah..."

Yeah talking about the 4th quarter of postseason games is comparable to talking a out the 3rd quarter of games not played on Sundays.

Crunch time in elimination games.

No, that would be including RB stats. That's for a different discussion, but I agree with you that Hurts is a better RB than QB

As compared to Hurts who plays behind the best OL of this era. I think Baker would make the Pro Bowl playing behind the Eagles OL

Running QB's always are a concern to me.

They're exciting to watch.

But one big hit can change everything. Scrambling/running QB's take extra hits pocket passers don't.

so he wants to use the TDs from running but not the 6 point turnover from him?

No it wouldn't. None of those stats were compiled with Jalen playing RB. Those were yards and TDs earned by Jalen playing QB.
