I chose the fourth answer for lack of a better option. I will readily admit that I'm biased because I always loved Nabby and was sad to see him leave. I don't care if he's being an ass. He always had a bit of an attitude problem and I might have liked him a little more for it.

ill be honest, he knew the rules and yeah he's being a bitch, but its nothing short of hysterical to me.

and it should a wake up call to a guy like snow and the isles front office to get their shit together when a player flat out chooses to not be paid at all instead of playing for your team

He's fucked himself, so let him rot.

- got greedy, ran off to Russia for long term high dollars
- sucked, and lost his KHL job
- runs back to NHL to cherry pick a Cup contender for three months of reg season?
- waiver rules are in place for everyone in Europe. same rules for everyone.
- fuck him. I think it's great that the isles (or anyone) scooped him.

My vote is for...

E. Understand his position since the waiver process for free agents not attached to a team is pretty ridiculous.

Nabwho? We've moved on...

I guess if one good thing came from all this is that the Isles finally signed a player to a decent contract. (Now let's try turning in our own work to the teacher...:D)

what he said. it made no sense that the Isles picked him up (do they not have ANY prospects or could get someone else that they know would actually report?) but it was their right. the Devils had the same chance being last place as did the Oilers who had a worse record and they probable need goaltending help more than anyone. but the oilers and devils saw that on their teams he is no better than what they have. unless Dipetro is going down for the season there was no need for Nabakov there. but thats hockey and thats the rule. he obviously doesnt really want back in the NHL or he would report be a UFA next season and see if he can get a job

Devils didnt need goaltending help, they needed a better coach and they got one. No they wont jump in to the playoff hunt, but the team is winning again.

If Nabokov had an ounce of class, he would report to the Isles (as he stated, it's basically a few months), try to play well, and use the experience as a tryout for next year.

Even though he didnt report, can the Islanders still fine him? I mean, he did hang up on his boss..that would be even funnier
