Again, learn something every day.

If you don't have a reason to wake up..............................you won't.
This isn't realistic advice. I'm wired for learning with a very specific quality: curiosity. Plenty of people have it, but most don't.

It's hard to get someone who isn't curious to learn beyond necessity, and many won't even try to learn then.

To me, routines are a better driving point for getting up every day.

To me, routines are a better driving point for getting up every day.
Routines are fine. Dogs love having daily routines, knowing what and when to expect things. Problem is when their routines are broken for any reason. They require time to adapt.

For humans, having a reason to greet each day, ensures hat one will aspire to throw off the covers and plant their feet firmly on the floor.

Today is a perfect example. Went to bed at 8:11 PM last night. Fuckin' weather station alarm went off at midnight. Unplugged it and went back to bed. Couple of deer walking in my back yard woke me again at 2:15 AM. Woke up this morning at 6:18 AM. Started the coffee and had a bowl of Raisin Bran. Watched the Celtics beat the Mavericks that I taped last night and can't wait for the NFL games to start at 3:00 PM.

Don't have to have a major reason, just a reason to swing those legs out from under covers.

Tomorrow, my solar pool cover is supposed to be delivered and my son is flying in from NH. Two more reasons.

Name something you want to accomplish and you either say "some day" and never do it, or say it's starts today and you start a routine and that routine will determine if you succeed. Want to learn guitar? You need a routine that includes practice and periodic introduction of new elements, techniques (or chords). Want to lose weight? You need a routine that includes eating the foods (and times if you are ambitious) that over time will carry you to your objectives.

You said "learn something new everyday". That doesn't happen without a routine to remind you of that mission each day.

Routines matter.

Reading through an article on MSN today, I was reminded of many things from the 60's
Though good and bad, I was brought to tears remembering the racial changes that were forced by my generation.
I lived through these changes but it still breaks my heart that as a free society, we were forced to make these changes.
Please take a moment to remember as most of us were there.....
