As in Thirteen Thousand Dollars ?

Please tell me you fat fingered something.

I wished I was kidding. I’m a horrible sleeper. Maybe 3-4 hours a day. And it’s not even a solid 3-4 hours. I’m always waking up. I’ve been told by several doctors I won’t live a long life with my sleeping pattern. Meds do not work. Everything gives me cotton mouth and I’m up drinking water and peeing all night. My wife thought maybe getting the most expensive and highly recommended bed would help me. That’s why we paid so much. I do fall asleep quickly with the massage/ vibration option. But wake up shortly. I’m just not meant to sleep.

I keep the thermostat at 78 and would be ok if it were warmer.
Before my current wife, I kept the thermostat at 84. - I'd work in the hot outdoors all day and take a shower and 84 felt heavenly!
My wife could sweat in an igloo......

That's too bad.

I can't stand not sleeping. I would go back to drinking.

I am in between you and Happy Chuck.
I usually wake up at least once to pee.
Sometimes I go back to sleep, sometimes not.

I would literally go on a killing spree if the temp in my house got over 71 degrees. I would be one miserable SOB! 68 -69 does get cold sometimes but I can put a long sleeve shirt on. When its hot…. I could get naked I guess. And no one wants to see that.

Holy shit. It was 88 in my house yesterday and I still wasn't inclined to turn the AC on. I keep the ceiling fans going and it's just right.

Not a huge fan of AC but if it gets any hotter then I'll surrender and turn it on.

Sorry about the sleep issue. I'd be using alcohol if I were you.

Zinus.

Seriously.

I bought my first Zinus about 5 years ago when we moved into an apartment...Long story, didn't want to get caught with two mortgages when we relocated..
We put our king size in storage and my wife and I used the queen from our guest bedroom that still had the original 20 + year old mattress that had only been used a couple doze times. Nope.
A friend recommended the Zinus. WOW. We got a queen gel/coil for $500+/-.
When we bought a new house Our daughter inherited the queen and we got our king out of storage. That $3000 Stearns & Foster gel/coil hybrid just couldn't cut it. A new Zinus king gel/coil for $800. I haven't been to the chiropractor since 2017. I used to go every month sometimes every week since...1993. Literally.
We then upgraded my son to a Zinus as well.

Comes in the mail, vacuum packed. Cut it open and let it unroll and expand. You have to wait 24 hours before sleeping on it. WELL worth it.
I'm bookmarking this

Had a new roof put on my house. I switched from off ridge vents to a full ridge vent with a solar powered attic fan. That fan is really cool and the A/C seems to run less. Won't know for sure until I get one or two bills but it appears to be the case

I would be interested in actual differences, although that's my OCD...
If I have the opportunity I will put powered vents in my attic, and in preparation I have a thermometer up there already.
It's one with a wireless remote so I can see the temp in my attic from my bedroom, and also temp in my bedroom. It displays daily highs and lows at both locations as well.
I have another one in the kitchen with a wireless sender outside, hanging under the deck so temps are actual air temps in the shade and not directly influenced by sun beating on the deck or direct exposure to the sun. This one also shows daily highs and lows.
I have a third...a complete weather station that I need to mount on my roof that will record wind speed and direction, daily and hourly rainfall, and temps inside and out with daily highs and lows.
When I get over my fear of heights long enough to go mount it on the roof I will then move the display that is in my kitchen out to the sunroom so I will have:
Temps outside in the sun.
Temps outside out of the sun.
Temps in the attic.
Temps in the sunroom.
Temps in the kitchen (influenced by stove/oven, dishwasher heat as well as other appliances.
Temps in a room not under the influence of extraneous shit.

Shit. I need one in the garage.

And the work out room.

And the family room.

And I need one in the front of the house because the others are in the back....

So my house is small and the engineer said by switching to the full ridge vent with powered attic fan. One works for me. Sounds like you have a larger house not sure what venting you have. My electric company keeps raising prices I keep doing enerfy upgrades so far I am pretty much breaking even

Not that big a house.
I just like to be able to tell my wife, "No, it's not any colder, here's the empirical data"

That and I'm anal that way.

I don't need a thermometer. I can feel when it's hot out.
I don't need a weather station. I can tell when it's raining.
I won't spend $3000 to save $1.47/month.
Well it was $650.00 installed and reduces the run time on your A/C which reduces mechanical wear and tear
