I lived in Virginia Beach for 10 years. First Hurricane I bit into the media and thought devastation the likes of Hugo was imminent.Hurricanes are overrated. Yes, they can cause major damage, but not very often. House in Miami for 25 years, maybe 2 hurricanes in that time that ripped up and sent trees and shit whipping around. Some home damage but not major. Fences, graden shit, etc. In Coco grove.
Hardly got any rain.
Got more and more complacent after that.
Until Hurricane Isabel in 2003. I was very fortunate, but a number of my friends lost their homes either to the winds or the flooding.
It only takes one.
