I didn't catch that, but I just assumed that was what he did. Barring a ridiculously difficult lie, Tiger doesn't leave a short iron 50 yards short unless that's what he's trying to do.. and that goes for all of them really.

Yep and I still have the Titleist persimmons my dad bought me when I was big enough for an adult set. I was still using the 4 & 5 woods until about 10 years ago.

Players want to get better. They want to see their scores go down. The best way for that to happen(for high handicappers) is to practice their short game. But its very hard to find a place to practice short play at many course. No chipping areas and high fees for the driving range. Who wants to pay $9 to hit 30 practice chips? I used to play the course during slow times just so I could hit some extra balls from 100 yds in and from the sand without holding up people behind me.

To play decent golf you need a tee ball and a short game and you can break 90. imo you should rarely ever face a shot that you haven't practiced many times and have some idea what the ball is going to do.

Anyone notice how much smoother Tigers swing was off the tee with the driver this last major? Way more controlled almost like he actually has turned into Eldrick which is huge.
