Sam threw 5 TDs over 50 yards in 1 year? What year was that?

It was 2012. it was five consecutive games of a 50 yard pass to CG. I don't know if they were all touchdowns. But big plays for sure.

Well last time I checked a 3yd TD pass is still six points. Wow!! has to be the first time I ever heard somebody say touchdown passes are overrated LOL. Did you really say that? I'm pretty sure you have to move the ball to get to the 3 yard line. What you prefer pick sixes like Davis throws? wtf.

I NEVER said TD passes weren't important, I just said they can be overrated and not a true indictor of a QB talent. Not sure what year it was, but I could have sworn Favre threw like 10 1 yard TD passes to Bubba Franks. I had Monte Ball as one of my fantasy RB's this year and when he got hurt I replaced him with Hillman. Pissed me off because almost every time Denver had a first and goal inside the 5, and a lot of times inside the 2, Manning would call his own number and throw the preferable 2 yard TD BOMB.

Now when QB's do this is it because of their great talent and throwing ability?

Well I do remember that stretch Coug, he did make a couple of nice throws, also a couple nice catches by Givens!

In the 5 game stretch that you are talking about Sammie averaged 225 yards passing per game, and that includes at least one 50 yard play each game, he also averaged 30 pass attempts in those 5 games, so if you want to take away that one great play a game he has, the average drops to 175 yards per game on 29 pass attempts, sorry that is NOT GOOD!

If Sammie hadn't played that year and Colt McCoy would have started all the games for Cleveland that year, there's a real good chance McCoy would have won ROY.
Coug doesn't get the fact that the QB is involved in every play and of course there's a greater chance of the QB winning the ROY in most cases.

Maybe you don't realize how difficult it is to throw a TD with 11 defenders all crowded in 12 yards of play.

If you really want to know, maybe you could ask Kurt Warner about that.

Sure Retro it was a pass Warner should have never thrown, we all can see that now but at the last second prior to the snap, Pittsburgh came with a full on blitz and James Harrison was thought of course to be coming too but instead he drops back into coverage to get the easy pick.

I agree with the call too. You have a first and goal at the two, only 18 seconds left in the half and I'm pretty sure no timeouts. They had to be thinking they could get three pass plays for the go ahead TD to end the half and still save an attempt for the field goal to tie it if needed.

Okay, so I think I've finally stumbled upon the crust of our differences on almost every topic we disagree.

You apparently think certain aspects of the professional game are 'easy', like in this example of redzone TD's. As opposed, I think most things in this game we both love, are very hard with the 'easy' coming on those rare mismatches and occasions.

If you look at this Harrison pick play, you will see that the Steelers had all 11 in the box. Then at the snap 10 were at the LOS with only Troy no more than 2 yards deep in the end zone. Even though the Cards were in the shot gun, the draw play was covered. After that, some good defense took Kurt's sure fire first ballet HOF bid in an instant. As we all know, that 14 point swing to close the half, was just enough by games end.
