Yeah like when Teams stayed together for years at a time. They had time to jell.....like the 70's Dodgers. :D

Sutton, Singer, Osteen, and Rau!

Yeager and Ferguson good 1-2 at catcher!

Those were the days! I still feel the burn of losing to the Yankees in the 77/78 world series! Screw Reggie Jackson!

My neighbor and good friend, who was opening a sports memorabilia store here in So. Cal more than a few years back, managed to get Steve Yeager to agree to help out at the opening, and the dude was great!

He signed baseballs all day and one for my young son too!

I remember him joking about how his signature lowered the actual value of the ball he signed.

Dude was real.

I also met Reggie Jackson back in the early 80's in New Port Beach CA. I believe he drove up in his Porsche that later was destroyed in a fire, I was a young buck and Reggie was looking for the service window where I worked and he knocked on the wrong door just outside of where I was working.

I had no clue it was actually Reggie Jackson knocking at the door, and was annoyed a bit because it was pretty clear where the service window was, and all the dumb asses would knock at this door, interrupting my work, instead of going to the service window which was posted very close along the same wall.

A few minutes after I told the 'dumb fuck' to go to the service window twenty feet over where the SIGN was posted, the owner of the company's Mom, who also worked there, came to me and said, "Do you know who that was, do you know who just knocked at the door?" I told her I had know clue.

When she told me who it actually was, (Remember it was in the early 80's, I'm thinking 82') I didn't believe her, thought she was kidding around, but when we both walked on the inside the building to the service window, and I saw the owner's son (Who was a big asshole who never worked, and just surfed all day most days, was actually at the service window on this day helping out for the very first time ever in my two years there, I knew I wasn't just being fooled) LOL.

So I took a better look, and saw it was indeed Reggie Jackson at the window.

Friends tell me to this day that Reggie probably appreciated the fact that he was treated like an every day Joe. IDK.

And they should all be that way! They are all paid more than they are worth and it's not asking much for a little if their time!
