Lakers had to fight hard just to beat a Pelican team playing all their backups ( 5 starters out for the season ).

And, why do the Lakers always let some scrub go off on them and look like an All NBA player.

Absolutely laughable. He just turned 26 after the trade. MJ, LBJ, Wilt, Oscar, Shaq, Steph, Dr J, Hakeem, KD....all older.
Do you think the Mavs had the best supporting cast in basketball last season when they reached the Finals? When MJ left the Bulls, they were still a playoff caliber team. If AD isn't there and the Mavs played a whole season without Luka, how many games would they win? 23-30? Not leading this years Lakers to a Title is sure as Hell not an indictment against him lol. But the season ain't over yet....

Nobody knows of any injury. In slow motion, it looks as though James MAY HAVE received a liver incursion but it looks doubtful. Nobody on the Lakers is saying anything but it looks more like a supreme ACTING job by the drama queen, Lebron James.

Lakers need a 4-1 finish to hold the 3 seed IMO. 3 seed is a much better road to the WCF

Of the remaining Lakers games, they have 1 home game and 4 away games. Two away games at OKC starting on Sunday, then they go play Dallas in Dallas, then they come home to play Houston, and then they finish the season in Portland.

There is a very good chance they could go 0-5. If they are playing their best on both Offense and Defense, then maybe they will beat Dallas and Portland. But if they struggle at home against a scrub team at the bottom of the NBA like the Pelicans, I don't see them winning much.

Like I said, there is a very good chance they will go 0-5.

Nah. I think they may end up the 4 but aren't worried about it. Luka led a scrub team to the Finals and another to the WCF while 25 and under. LBJ has won several Championships. They understand playoff basketball and how to flip the switch. I think they are coasting right now but I expect a different team come playoff time. I think they know how to play together offensively now, and they showed over a 21 game stretch they could defend. Problem was, that level of effort from those two isn't sustainable for an entire season and a long playoff stretch with the minutes they are going to have to play and the load they carry on the offensive end. They need defensive pieces to win a title, but they can put out 100% for a couple of series and beat anyone

it was good enough IMO. Does he need a superteam? If you got Irving as a sidekick and a top probably 20 player ever and lively and washington, , you got a pretty good team. but Celtics own Doncic's soul. they zero in on him defensively and he can't do anything..

and it isn't like the Celtics are on the 01 Lakers, 90s Bulls, KD/steph warriors level either as far as finals opponents go. . They are pretty much on 1996 Orlando magic level.. Dallas is also a really good team. they were then, they are now. If they didn't have a rash of injuries, they very well could be in the NBA finals again this year with AD/Irving. I wouldn't have been shocked if a healthy Dallas Team doesn't beat the Thunder in the playoffs.
