Not the case for the elite players though. The longer you delay your start, the longer you delay your max extension.

Any player who “makes it” is losing money

Deep Bench players might come out ahead

Lakers clearly need a C

Hayes getting no run is surprising but cheap and can be useable off the bench so he’s probably back

Can they get bron to take less money and give DFS money spread out vs his big player option? (Like the suns did with Royce O’Neal)

There's a guy from the Hornets named Mark Williams, he's young and a big man. Probably available for a trade.

Yeah, I think that regardless of sport, the guys who are projected to be top picks are very unlikely to stick around...it's more the late 1st round and 2ned round guys that may stay to try to improve their stock for the next draft.

Yeah, I like Hayes, he's athletic and plays hard...but he's too light in the ass. They need a starting quality C.

This series makes me really wonder what the Lakers doctors saw that they felt was bad enough to nix the Mark Williams trade? He would have been able to keep Gobert from looking like Wilt. lol

Even a guy like Caruso could have kept him from looking like Wilt lol

Lol.

I don't know about that...but one thing I noticed last night was that several of Gobert's rebounds were basically uncontested. Caruso is smart and he's a scrapper...he'd have likely at least tried to box him out and might have even picked up a couple of over the back calls to get him in foul trouble.

I can't deal with Airplane anymore. Those parody movies haven't aged well for me. I've seen many of them too many times, which doesn't help.

The dumbest movies that still get me are Pootie Tang, Monty Python & The Holy Grail and the ultimate, Kung Pow! Can't get dumber than Kung Pow...
Monty Python movies are not in the same category. They are probably the smartest comedians in these discussions. Literal Oxford and Cambridge people.

Anybody could see from the First Quarter on that the Wolves were going to go down low to Gobert ALL NIGHT LONG last evening because the Lakers were not contesting anything Gobert did with anybody.

Gobert was left to do what he wanted ALL GAME and the Wolves simply fed him for easy baskets and he had a free lane ALL GAME for rebounds and contesting shots.

AND, Redick didn't even bother with Hayes and neither did he play Kleber after one or two series. Kleber sat on the bench the entire Second Half. After Game One and Three, the Lakers surrendered!!

A few of his dunks there was nobody within 10 feet of him.

Looked like they had no idea how to rotate out of that zone. Almost like they had never practiced it.

I know that since the Luka trade, there has been very little practice time and I'm sure that they spent the majority of what time they did have on offense.

Their defense looked good a bit of the time in the regular season...but you can disguise things easier in the regular season when teams can't spend all of their time focusing on 1 opponent.

Had a good, experienced coach vs a looks like he'll be good, inexperienced coach and that, imo, was the biggest difference.

And so begins the speculations for the re-tooling of the Lakers around Doncic and James if he decided not to retire. BTW, Doncic needs to get into the weight room this summer and add some muscle. I am sure the Lakers can facilitate the process.

I’m sure the Mavs tried to facilitate the process too but that should help the Lakers be more successful.
