Lakers win it and sweep the Queens this year. Ten-point gap and the Lakers improve to 18-13.

Five Players for two and the Lakers still didn't get their physical Center. I wonder what idiot approved this trade. They didn't trade their First Rounders but they gave up 3 of their Second-Rounders. Just a stupid trade in my opinion.

Y'all are idiots....

DFS was shooting 44% from 3 and will be a super sub off the bad bench.....he can also play small ball C on the 2nd unit.....Milton is a nice addition to a weak bench.

When Vandy and Wood come back they will help strengthen what has been a bad bench....unless Rob makes another trade with those 2, JHS and a 1st or 2.

Not trading the 1st rounders in the Russell trade was a big win.

IDK DJ. We got an older player in DFS by 3 years and yea maybe he plays better defense and is more versatile but we gave-up a point guard and Lewis and Three Second Round picks. I think we got hosed. At best, this trade removes a defensive liability but what does it gain?? I am not sure we get any better with this trade and we sure as hell lose a bunch of draft capital.

It was a great trade because Russell has sucked this season and Reaves and Christie are the backcourt of the future.

Lewis? WTF has he done?

We kept the 1st rounders and traded 3 2nd rounders (which can be bought easily like we have done in the past) and DFS is a major get. He can play defense,.....something we need since Russell sure as heck doesn't and we will not know if Lewis can since he wasn't getting minutes.

DFS and Milton are better than what we sent out. Bottom line.

Even if DFS doesn't maintain his 44% shooting he helps us improve in that area since Russell has regressed.

If he can make say 36-38% that is an improvement. And I love he can play SF, PF and even small ball C on the 2nd unit.

O.K. DJ. It is quite obvious this trade is what you wanted or at least was in favor of dating back awhile. Like most drafts and trades, we will have to wait and see if indeed this trade was what you are saying it is. I trust your judgment but we shall see.

Maybe Redick will utilize these guys better to get a better defensive team. Reaves and Christie are def the backcourt. Maybe Redick will keep James more in-check so he doesn't try to control how everyone plays.

I am glad the Lakers didn't trade their First Rounders or Hachimura. Hachimura is starting to be consistently good in shooting and defense. Redick is pushing for a better defensive Lakers, that is for sure.

We shall see what they do with Vanderbilt and Woods and others who are dead weight. Maybe more trades in the pipeline to get that big physical Center Redick wants. More later I suppose.

I also really like that Gabe Vincent has started shooting the ball better....his defense is solid and he also could be added to a trade since we added Milton.

Vincent, Vanderbilt, JHS and a 1st or 2 could land us a guy on a team that wants to get rid of him.

Or we could keep Gabe....this trade gives JJ options now.

More reasons for the trade. Apparently getting rid of DRuss has money savings for the Lakers and may open up a trade for a physical Center. We shall see.

Maybe now the Lakers can go after the young, physical Center they wanted that Portland may move in Robert Williams even though he is only 6'9. Getting DFS has probably nixed this deal. Besides, Kokolo is playing better on both ends of the court.

And how many times have the Lakers traded for or signed a player that was shooting well from 3, only to have them tank once they join the Lakers.

Vincent was supposed to be a 3 and D guy. How has that signing worked out?

Haven't been paying attention?

Gabe got hurt last season and has bounced back nicely this season playing his signature defense and has got his shooting numbers up (37.3% and 33%) after he was shooting like 20% and 11% earlier this season. He is one of the few who plays defense and DFS is the 3 and D wing they needed since Vandy is seemingly always hurt....

He has improved, but he’s not what he was in Miami, which is what the signed him for.

He missed almost all of last season.....he is starting to get back to where he was in Miami.

Especially, his defense.
I hope he gets there DJ.

The Lakers need it because their defense sucks, and that’s with Davis having a great season on D.
