I want to be very optimistic. I'll still say Lakers in 6

But this team seriously needs to get their shit together if they want to compete.

Yesterdays first half was completely unacceptable. The Lakers didn't win, the Wolves lost.

Yeah, given the past week, I can't project the Lakers to win the series. That no-show by DLo is problematic. Rooting for them of course, but confidence level is low right now.

I think if the Lakers are able to take one out of the first two in Memphis, they're in a really good position.

Instead of keeping their foot on the accelerator, they took a LeBron style night off.

Bron did not take the night off.....He played well.

AD played great on defense, but did not play well on offense

I can't even give him too much credit on defense. Sure, he had some blocks, but 22 pts for Tillman? 18 more for JJJ. Lakers' usual advantage in points in the paint nullified.

I didn't say Lebron specifically took the night off, I said that the Lakers took a LeBron STYLE night-off. Maybe I should be a little more specific next time.

No worries DJ. I know your passion for the Lakers and how badly you want to see Banner number 18 ahead of those dastardly Celtics. I hear ya dude!

The Lakers really need to sign a host of players they have as keepers and not get caught-up in any bullshit trades like the rumored Lilliard trade or the DeRosan trade bullshit. Pelinka has finally put together a very good roster and they really should attemot to keep all or most of the players they now have.

Lilliard could play with Bron and AD but we do not have enough to trade for him.

Exactly and it would be pointless to trade guys like Hachimura, DRus, and Reaves AND a 2029 Number One for an aging Lilliard. Hach, DRus, and Reaves all want to stay with the Lakers and it would be very humiliating to trade Reaves just like they did the last time we had a Whitey who was just starting to come into his own and ended-up in Chicago. That would show the basketball world that the Lakers don't learn from their mistakes. Sign Hach, DRus, AND Reaves and get others extended even guys like Walker and TBJ.

Walker and Brown will be gone.

Doubt they keep them. They can find a few vets on the minimum to replace their depth. Walker had a good season but he isn't even in the rotation right now.

You are probably right, DJ. I would think Ham would push for TBJ to be brought back since he plays him a lot over some other players. I would think the Lakers would find a way to keep Hach, DRus, Reaves, and even Schrooder. Gabriel too.

Schroder is a must.....with Bev gone.

He plays some dogged defense. And he is in his prime, more than Bev is.

Plus, he let's his play and defense do the talkin and he doesn't run his mouth like Bev did. Schrooder is def a keeper and the Lakers really should do everything they can to accommodate the guy because he came back on a one-year, "prove-it" deal. He has earned the right to stay. Same for Hach, DRus, and Reaves. All have proven the right to be extended or get a new contract and stay and the Lakers who can afford all four. It would just be the league regulation that puts some binders on the Lakers through the CBA.
