They ended that show so fucking weak. The shortest episode of the season is the season finale?! Like, what weak, lazy showrunning.
that's a dumb thing to complain about, IMOThey ended that show so fucking weak. The shortest episode of the season is the season finale?! Like, what weak, lazy showrunning.
Agree to disagree. I feel like the finale of a season should not be the shortest episode of the season. Doesn't necessarily need to be the longest, but it def shouldn't be the shortest, IMO.that's a dumb thing to complain about, IMO
you realize that all the episodes are filmed before the season is aired, right? So I tuned out of this series just before ellies big gay date and let them sit on the dvr until today...gay date episode seemed to be be a big nothing throwaway. I imagine they were hoping for the same press they got from nicks tummy stick journey but probably only really appeased the "it was in the video game" crowd.
These massively long waits between seasons are doing more to kill TV than anything else.
I read that this was the ultimate goal for Hollywood. Use the strike to cancel or remove a bunch of shows they don't want with Force Majeure. Clean slate if you will. These massively long waits between seasons are doing more to kill TV than anything else.
But what is “TV” today? These massively long waits between seasons are doing more to kill TV than anything else.
Any evidence to back that up? For example shows that did very well one season and the next a couple years later did poorly? While I can be frustrated by long waits, especially for 8 -10 episode seasons, I suspect there is little evidence long waits kill series or TV in general. These massively long waits between seasons are doing more to kill TV than anything else.
I haven’t played LoU2, but I am aware of the two big twists/spoilers. I can’t imagine they are going to avoid BOTH of them, but in today’s world (and what we saw from S1), there is no way they will skip one of them. The other, they may write themselves out of…
S1 ended at the end point of the first game. So unless they completely diverge from the game, what can they do?I don't think this show has the clout GOT did to pull it off and not have the show completely tank. If that makes sense. If the arc ends there at some point...sure. but in season 2? Nah.
The twists in the game don't bother me in a show format. A show I watch, and I like narrative choices or I don't, but it is fine. With a game you are supposed to have choice, and the eliminated that choice from the game. That was the major issue I had with it.I haven’t played LoU2, but I am aware of the two big twists/spoilers. They might stretch things out, and have season 2 be before the 2nd game really gets rolling though to avoid having to cross a certain bridge with their cast. Then season 3 would really be the 2nd game. The twists in the game don't bother me in a show format. A show I watch, and I like narrative choices or I don't, but it is fine. To your last point, they won't write themselves out of any part of it. Druckman has that control and he is the driving force of the game.
This strategy is what I was hinting at. It allows them to tell original story while avoiding the controversial decisions that hurt the second game. They might stretch things out, and have season 2 be before the 2nd game really gets rolling though to avoid having to cross a certain bridge with their cast. Like I said, though, I haven’t played the 2nd game. Is there a time jump? Is there a window where they can tell other stories before picking up the story of the 2nd game? If they are able to make the 2nd game start in S4 (or whatever), than maybe they can do BOTH twists. If not, they HAVE to do one, but they can write themselves out of the other (granted, coming from someone who isn’t THAT familiar with the full game story).
