It has been available to me for free on one of the services (HBO?) for a while now, but I haven’t yet been tempted to check it out. I have yet to hear anything good about it.

Spoiler alert.

Yea I recorded it on HBO. I will say that Harry Styles, who has been getting a lot of grief for his acting, did not stand out to me as any worse than the other non-Pugh performances, which were not terrible.. just kind of blah.

I did stick it out to the end, thinking it was building to some resolution/explanation/comeuppance but after a rather mediocre car chase all it ended with was a blank screen and the impression that things did not work out for Pugh's character.

Don't bother, because the theme, look, style & pretty folks might drag you in and it defintely is not worth it.

Just watched The Protege, with Maggie Q, Samuel L., and Michael K(eaton)

Wasn't too bad, a generic action hitman thriller. 5/10 with a possible 6/10 because Maggie and Michael have a conversation where some funny things are said about private parts, but overall, I'd say 5.5/10.

The Man Without a Face. I always go back to it from time to time, underrated movie IMO. Excellent child acting all around... Stahl is great, but so is the actor that plays his sister along with the actors that play his friends, other sister, etc. Gibson is brilliant as always.

Just got around to see Wonder Woman 1984. I see what people are saying about it, it's dull at times and predictable. But I do like the villains they chose and the actors who played them. Pascal and Wiig were perfectly cast, IMO. Pretty good acting by Gal and the scenes with her and Chris Pine are really good and funny. I would say it's not as good as the first one, but it's close. I'd give both Wonder Woman movies the same rating, 7/10.

I completely understand that my opinion is that of a very very very small minority. I'll take the L on it, it's not a hill worth dying on haha.

Max Lord, he absorbed the stone that granted wishes and essentially started wars all over the world because he was a power hungry maniac.

There were parts of it I still liked, usually around Gadot/Pine and Wonder Woman in action. I thought the main villain, the "make a Wish" guy was beyond stupid and the solution of getting people to "think good thoughts" to defeat it was equally stupid. Wigg as the Cheetah? was decent as sort of a traditional super-villain. I think the movie got too much into trying to teach some life lesson as opposed to being entertaining. Very disappointed overall particularly after such a great first film.

White Noise. Adam Driver is a college professor in Hitler studies and the husband in a blended family. Both he and his wife are obesessed with the fear of death. That's the central theme of this movie which is a confusing mix of black comedy and dramatic elements. There's a chemical leak in their town which exacerbates their fears and leads to a mass evacuation and panic. There are some funny and interesting parts but it really never came together and I wouldn't recommend it.
Spent the whole time watching this movie wondering when they were going to get to the point or actually develop a plot.

Piranha 3D. I ran into it on HBO.. just the last 40 minutes, but I suspect that's all I needed. Man-eating Piranhas ruin spring break. It was pretty hilarious without being outright parody. I highly recommend it.. the 2nd half anyway.

We Have a Ghost (Netflix)

Surprisingly good. Not award winning or anything like that, but it was more thought out than I was expecting. There is a police chase scene that felt a little “deaf” in today’s climate, but really, that’s my only problem with the movie (for what it is).

7/10

Old...typical m night shamalingadingdong flick. Stars with an interesting premises and then the ending fails miserably. Resort vacation turns into a twilight zone episode give it a C-
Typical of his movie making after Sixth Sense and Unbreakable, it gets old really quickly.

Sixth Sense, Signs (I am in the minority who actually really liked that movie), Unbreakable, Split and to a lessor extent, Glass, are the only movies he has ever made that were worth a shit. Happening was one of the absolute worst movies ever made.
