Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Yeah, the jokes are lowbrow and sophomoric. But I still laughed a lot.

it was actually a pretty cool setting (which may have helped with the laughs). It was at a Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Roadshow event at the Balboa Theater. they came out and talked for a few minutes, played the film and then came back out after for a hilarious Q&A.

The Silent Partner (1978)

A bank teller (Elliot Gould) anticipates a robbery and stashes most of the bank's cash shortly before it happens. The robber (Christopher Plummer) is naturally quite annoyed at this turn of events, and spends the rest of the movie trying to get even.

One of the interesting things about this movie - it was filmed in Toronto, and the director and some of the cast are Canadian. "70's culture" is entertaining as well.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood....

I don't get it. A retold story of the manson murders with no purpose or clear intention other than saying 'what if'. Some funny moments, nothing was bad about the movie other than it just wasn't necessary to make. Acting was good, quality/production was good, sets looked legit.

Pitt was awesome. One of the better actors of my generation.

Peppermint. Sydney Bristow was a great character back in the day. Gardner is back in action and takes no prisoners. I love a good revenge movie. I very much enjoyed it. 7.5/10

Jennifer is still sexy.

Agree on all counts. It's just your basic revenge fantasy flick, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Garner is a babe and delivered several "make my day" type exchanges beautifully, in addition to pulling off all of the action sequences believably.. or as believably as could be expected given the script.

Watched The Mule last night.

Slow and understated, but enjoyable. I was surprised by the cast. I didn’t realize how many “big” names were in it.
One of my two favorite movies this year. The other was John Wick II.

I owned copies of each, but only DVD, and for some reason my BluRay unit shrunk them with black bars all around.

Situation rectified.

Daughter gave me BluRays of each for Xmas.

Just watched The Doors. Great movie.

On taps for later tonight if nobody wants to watch The Witcher with me, Heat. Best robbery ever.

Rewatching the punisher netflix series... no doubt Bernthal would be the best choice to be the wolverine replacement should another xmen be made.

Though it was great, but the "re-imagined" ending lost me. It's not the first time Tarantino has decided to revise history, but it worked far better in Inglorious Basterds than it did here, IMO.

The Favourite.. 8/10. An historical period piece based in early 1700s England. Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz (as Sarah Churchill) vying to be the ailing Queen Anne's (Olivia Coleman) right-hand gal-pal/lesbian lover and political advisor. The ending was weird af, but other than that I enjoyed it.

Jackman played Wolverine in 3 (technically 4) movies AFTER he was 44. Bernthal is also in fantastic shape and the second and likely final season of Punisher came out this year doing far more gruling stunts than what Jackman typically did as wolverine.

I can understand people thinking Jackman is the greatest or don't want to mess with anything or not sure how Bernthal would actually fair, yada yada yada, but age? C'mon man.... and Bernthal just turned 43 so he has that going for him.

To each their own, I think he would be the perfect actor for the part given what I have seen from Punisher.

Green Book. 8/10. Aside from the happy ending that seemed a bit forced I thought it was very good. Mortenson and Ali were both terrific in their "odd couple" roles and really elevated the material and provided depth beyond some of the cliched tropes it was founded on.
