Manning is the most accomplished regular season player
Brady is the most accomplished
Rodgers is the best all around QB in NFL history
Steve Young is a poor Man's Rodgers who had a similar skill set and career in having to sit behind a legend
Montana is a poor Man's Brady

Marino is slightly better than Favre IMO despite not having the SB success

:pound:

You can disagree all you want but it's the truth. It would be like someone saying 2+2=4 and you disagree. lol

No, it wouldn't be anything like that. It would be more like your mom saying Dayne, stop rubbing all over your Aaron Rodgers pillowcase, supper's ready.

It's hard to enjoy when we have a GM with Alzheimer's a HC that's the most conservative HC in the league and a washed up DC. Our team just says in interviews that hey we have Rodgers. Stupid fucks don't realize it takes a defense, and coaching staff and not just a QB to win the SB. They settle for making the playoffs because it's enough to be one of the leaders in annual revenue.

Let's blame the coaches. What a fem. Again, this is a thread about the greatest QB. Did you notice that the OP didn't even include Rodgers as a choice? There's a reason for that.

Unitas and Starr were before my time, although my dad told me Johnny U was something special and Bart Starr was a stud. There is also something to be said about what Brady's done in the FA era. Plus that comeback was the shit, but I go with Joe Montana. As I think he was a Roger Craig fumble against NYG in the 1990 playoffs away from being 5-0 in Super Bowls. And probably an upset of epic proportions of the 9ers by the Vikings in 87 playoffs away from being 6-0 in Super Bowls. Though I'm not sure who would've QBed the 9ers in the 87 playoffs had they beaten the Vikings as both Montana and Young played that year I believe.

So you're going to credit Joe with two wins where he actually lost and then you're going to toss in two more wins in games he never played. :L

You should just go back and watch the 4th quarter of this SB.

I was always one to say that there's no such thing as the greatest with all the intangibles and other players contributing. Then I watched what we all saw last Sunday night. Wow.

I believe I said I think he was a Craig fumble away from being 5-0 not I know or I guarantee it. And probably a Vikes upset away from being 6-0 which is a ways away from saying, without a doubt. I dunno how you got four extra games from that, but don't let me fuck up your roll. Though I'd probably be holding my head as well if my math was that fuzzy. That's gotta be a hellified headache making your way to the conclusions that you did.

Besides, you have 36 other posters agreeing with you in the poll. I doubt there's any room for me on Brady's tip at this point. Smoke a joint and relax. That's what I'm doing.

The Craig fumble excuses one loss, the Vikings win removes the other. Since he never played in SBs # 5 and #6, you're crediting him with those two wins as well. That's the math and it's actually rather simple.

Jim Kelly could look pretty decent with that kind of dreaming.

Holy fuck, you must have been CRUSHED watching that unfold last Sunday evening.

Crushed in all caps eh. Heh. Why? I'm not a Falcons fan and I like Brady. He's a great QB. I just don't think he's the best QB I've seen play is all. You Pats fans need to let go of the belief that if someone doesn't have the same feelins about Brady as you do. They must be a hater. That's not the case, least not for me. Besides, its an opinion based poll. Its not like I'm sayin Trent Dilfer is the tits and Brady is lacking compared to him. Its Joe freakin Montana. He's a 4 time SB winner and 3 time SB MVP himself. Who imo played better competition albeit in his own conference the majority of the time and in a less QB-friendly era. Not to cause you more undue butthurt or anything, but I like Roger Staubach and Terry Bradshaw of the last two Steeler Super Bowl wins in the 70s as much as I like Brady. That said, Brady is a legit and fine choice for anyone who thinks he the G.O.A.T. He's just not my choice.

And your math is funky like penicillin.

In a game that Montana got benched.

You can make up excuses for anything if you choose to look at it that way. Brady could make a 99-yard perfect TD pass while getting hit with no time to make the decision. And then Brady haters would say like "Well, the Defensive Coordinator should've called another play so really Brady deserves no credit and that doesn't count as a good play."

There is a difference between the most talented and GOAT IMO. GOAT includes accomplishments, accolades. I mean would we be calling MJ GOAT if it wasn't for his 6 titles or would we just be calling him the most talented player of all-time, in MJ's case he is both. But in this case, I think Brady is not the most talented QB of all-time but he is GOAT.

I totally agree. His work ethic has gotten him to where he is. And his accomplishments don't lie. Tom Brady is the Greatest of All-Time.

How do you know for certain Alex Smith couldn't? Has he ever played on a Belichick-coached team? Was he ever put in that exact situation with the same coaches, system and players around him and failed? Pure opinionated speculation either way.

I think you all know that my ultimate point with the Alex Smith name drop was to state that Brady did nothing physically extraordinary in that comeback. In fact, physically, it was rather ordinary among all starting QBs in the league. The things that were extraordinary about Brady were his patience & composure - as I stated. Do you disagree?

Bc his name is Alex Smith, he is who he is, not TB.

-Missed FG on first drive
-Fumble at goal line by FB on second drive,
-defense relinquished 44 points

Only an ignorant fool would believe in your comment. Looks like there are four so far.

Pats gave up 21 in the first half and some change plus a TB pick six and a fumble by Blount. I mean I wouldn't say the Pats d played well either but the reason they didn't is bc in the 2nd half they were getting 3 and outs, the Falcons made some bad play calls and bc Tom Brady was in the zone for a little over a quarter. Apparently, all he needed was a quarter lol

Well lets have you review that math...I wasn't the one scrambling to make Montana look better. You were. You granted two losses as wins if you could remove a crucial play and then you spotted him to SBs that he never got to while you were dreaming about how he might have had 5 SBs.

....and bullshit that you weren't crying on Sunday night. Nobody who makes the reeeeeaches you do to prop up Montana was doing anything but rooting hard against the Pats. I have never put Brady at the top.....until what I saw Sunday night.

Nope, you're the one who's Butt Hurt.
