Day to Day
NE Patriots owner Bob Kraft opened a gigantic can of worms Tuesday while interviewing with the Washington Post.
He said that he and Bill Belichick have discussed and that he knows when BB will retire. Needless to say the NE media went bullshit because they were not the first to be told this little nugget.
Every sports writer has stopped Kraft since then and asked if he will tell thyem or at least give them a hint. He says the same thing he told the Post...........It's a personally private thing between him and I and I would never violate that confidence.
Albert Breer, a commentator on Monday Morning Quarterback and former ESPN NFL reporter, somehow got a secret from someone and stated yesterday that Josh McDaniel and Matt Patricia both turned down NFL head coaching positions. McDaniel turned down the 49ers and while Breer didn't say, it's assumed that Patricia turned down the Chargers.
Are they both expecting to be named HC of the NEP?
Breer then said that he didn't have any specific evidence but he believes that BB will be done at the end of 2019, regardless of the team finish. That would be Super Bowl LIV. Tom Brady's contract runs through the end of 2020. Could it be that BBs successor will have the experience of Tom Brady for one year before implementing a new offense with Jacoby Brissett? Or will the Patriots be dealing Brissett in 2019? A year before he can become a free agent?
Needless to say, the speculation of the team's future will continue to be front page news here in New England...............The final question that can't be answered is.....When will Bob Kraft turn the team over to his son Johnathan? Johnathan absolutely hates Roger Goodell and his father is the force that keeps him in check. When asked outright if he could support Goodell, JK would NOT say yes.
So what is the future of the New England Patriots? Can they continue to be successful without Belichick, Brady and Bob K?
