Is it? Their biggest hit by a large margin is "I dont want to lose a thing". Their 2nd biggest hit is "Angel". Maybe 6 out of their next 10 biggest singles are good but its hard to ignore the amount of cheese pop like "Cryin"

I'm not sure I'd call Radiohead overrated but its very jarring to see top musician lists and Radiohead is the only rock song or album to show up from the past 20 years. It'd be like if the football HOF just had Tom Brady and didn't recognize anyone else from this era.

What they definitely are not is classic rock, so it was wrong for me to include them, regardless.

Note that I didn't say they were bad, just overrated.
They had some songs I really liked and "Whole Lotta Love" is a masterpiece.
Not a favorite of mine, but a good band.

They just got played WAY TOO MUCH in the classic rock era...I swear that I could have flipped around the stations in Chicago when I was growing up and found "Stairway To Heaven" 5-6 times in an hour.

When i was young i used to like the long rambling instrumentals and solos, now that I'm older I'm like just end the damn song already.

So did I. But I was a kid. We actually used to listen to the 17+ minute version of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.. and we liked it!

But after developing a taste for jazz and other forms of more interesting instrumental music I look at some of those old rock jams in a much different light.

Lynyrd Skynyrd was a great band and it's a shame that Ronnie Van Zant died at such a young age. That band is still performing but are just a shadow of their former selves. Ronnie Van Zant was a creative genius.

How about Free Bird?

Just skip to the meat of the solo and I love that song!
I really think Ronnie Van Zant's voice was a bad match for Free Bird, just didn't seem right for a slow song where he had to hold notes for long periods. I thought his performances in songs like Gimme Three Steps and That Smell were quite good.
