The more I read up on the defenseman at 20 the less concerned I am. Definitely sounds like we reached (probably a positional panic pick after Rangers leap frogged us and too Braden Schneider). But he sounds like a player and there doesn't seem to be any sort of consensus beyond the top 15 so who knows.

Would love the Devils to figure a way into the 2nd round as our next pick isn't until 84.

The more i read on him the more i think the Devils should have traded their first for nikita tryamkin

There seems to be some concerns about Connor Zary's skating, but he seems to have a knack of putting the puck in the net. The fact that the Flames moved down a few spots while acquiring a couple of 3rd round picks and still getting Zary is some pretty good work by Treliving.

He then ADDED that the player was given rave reviews by two prospects of the team. He never said we picked Jake Sanderson because our prospects liked him. I'm not a huge Murray fan at this point with his concussion problems and his play last year. That being said this is nothing to give up for a mid-20s starting goalie so I guess I'm OK with it. He has shown that he's got what it takes to be a top notch goalie.

Exactly there really is no lose situation for the Sens. They aren't even stuck with a long-term high-priced deal in this.

Yeah, he is 68, but the last few years appear to have taken their toll. Heck, we aren't even facing a pending work stoppage which is Gary's bread and butter.
