Some baseball expert once pointed out that every team wins 54 games and every team loses 54 games, and it's the other 54 games that matter. Close games are one key. Losing a game that should have been won is significant. At the end of the season, only the number of losses matter. A game lost by one run counts just as much as a blowout.

Naturally the Blue Jays win a close game right after I post.

Blue Jays and Pirates are better than their record. Pirates are 45-22 iirc after their slow start and just beat up Kershaw. Blue Jays are playing great ball after the trade

Blue Jays struggled more or less the first 3 months of the seasons but since the All Star Break they've been playing some great baseball.
