Tough loss today (3-2 once again...)

Now we can win tomorrow. If not we play at home game 163. If we lose that we play at home in the wild card game. Anyone think this team is going to lose 4 in a row? Could happen but I think we win one of those. And that's not even factoring in the Dodgers maybe losing one of these next 2.

And if it happens, it sucks but still what a season! The Mariners won 116 games and lost in the first round. Baseball is like that. Sports are like that.

GO GIANTS!

And I'm still scratching my head that this team has the best record in baseball on October 2nd, 2021. Yes, they are legitimate and guys have come out of the woodwork to have great seasons, but still, how did they do it? Feels like an apology for 2016 (and 2017).

Yep, there's no explaining it. Every year some team comes out of nowhere and is unexpectedly good.

But actually I think there is somewhat of an explanation. FZ and Kapler very deliberately assembled a team of interchangeable, versatile players. So all year long Kapler has been able to move guys around, use his whole bench every game, get batting matchups, etc. And on the pitching side they deliberately planned to not depend on 5 starters trying to go 6-7 innings a game. Facing batters that third time through the order is something they deliberately try to avoid. I used 'deliberately' a lot on purpose. This was planned.

It might not have worked, but this is what it working looks like. Throw in unexpected bounce back seasons from Posey, Belt, Longoria, and Crawford and there you have it...

Considering what was expected of this team it was worth a try. A no loss/lots to gain approach if you will. Unexpectedly it turned out to be a lot better then anyone could imagine. Found a few guys who with a little more work (Wade against lefties) could be everyday players and potential all stars.

And this is why FZ and Kapler should be locks for EOY and MOY

Also gotta say, having all the games at once tomorrow is pretty baller...

Lot going on all at the same time in a race like this. AL wildcard too.

6 games to follow. 2 for the NL West and 4 for the 2 WC spots in the AL.

Gentlemen....you are welcome

Maybe the Dodgers kick our ass in the NLDS, but somehow I don't think so. We might not win it but I think it will be a good series either way. Maybe 40% chance we win?

Giants are going in without Belt.

doggies are going in without Muncy (likely) and Kershaw.

Crew is going in without Williams.

Kinda lessens the impact of the Belt injury.

On the radio they said Muncy misses the wild card game for sure but has a pretty good chance to come back later.

I hadn’t heard the part about him coming back. It looked pretty bad, though.

Though if Rondo can come back after halftime from a similar (looking) injury, maybe Muncy can come back after almost a week…

Just what I'd heard, Jon Miller talked about it.

I have $100 on SF to win the WS. We need to get to the WS so I can lay off half that money.

Dude, I've done that twice on the niners, all three times The Giants won it, and five times on the Ws. It's a nice chunk of change either way!

But, they have to make the WS/SB/Finals

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers first baseman Max Muncy is "very unlikely" to play in the NL Wild Card Game, according to manager Dave Roberts, after he injured his left elbow in the third inning of Sunday's 10-3 win against the Milwaukee Brewers.

He is also "unlikely" for the division series in the event the Dodgers advance, Roberts said, while adding, "I just don't want to count Max out.''
