"The big question is will the fans understand? Would you support a management who puts together a team that wins you a Cup, knowing within weeks of that joyous day the team is going to be blown up? Would you proudly still buy the tickets, the jerseys, stand on the parade route for hours knowing that half of the guys you are cheering for now will be gone and you will be cheering against them the next season?

In other words would you make the deal with the cap devil to win you a Cup knowing that it may be some time before you can do it again? It took the Chicago Blackhawks 49 years to win the 4th Stanley Cup in franchise history. How long will it take for them to do it again?"

As much as I am enjoying watching the hawks implosion (which i admit is far more than good sportsmanship would allow), yes i would "trade all my tomorrows for a single yesterday" in a heartbeat.

/That's what burns me most about the lockout, who knows what the Flames might have done in the 2004-2005 season (and now we'll never know)

If they do it another way there is no guarntee they even win once, so I'll take what we get now over the possibility of none. Plus its not like Kane and Toews are old, they will have time to build around them again. I don't even think we have seen the best play those 2 have to offer yet.

i'm gonna say highly doubtful IMO.
not sure the IPW is bein entirely serious but regardless the core is still in tact for the most part, and its a solid one, with the correct role players i wouldn't be suprised to see them in the 2nd round

Since when did everybody decide you dont need depth in the playoffs just a "solid core" I dont get it...that just sounds so stupid to me. Washington, New Jersey, Nashville, LA, and Phoenix all have "solid cores" and I dont remember seeing any of them in the second round.
