So players get 1/3 of the salary remaining on the contract and none of their salary in the future counts towards the team's cap when bought out.

Does the player re-signing with another club change or alter that buyout amount? Or do they get that 1/3 regardless?

I think it is regardless of what team the bought out player ends up with. In this case, Snider is paying Bryz $23 million to just go away

Just did the math. At the end of it all, the Flyers will have paid Bryzgalov 36.8 mil for 52 wins. That's aprox $708,000/victory. #TSN
