Probably the best part of the preseason was that the players played good D in 7/8ths of the games, and great D in three. Everybody is trying to follow the coaches defensive mentality.

Preseason surprises, yes, probably Turner's versatility. Next for me would be confidence and size of Smart when he plays. He is fast but he is also big/beefy. Still would have wanted Vonleh so hopefully he proves me wrong

They have one positive I can think of..Marcus Smart, but he needs to improve his shot.

He sure does. Funny thing is Stevens so far has been giving him the green light, albeit after the first 5 minutes or so of the game.

watched him a lot in the Big 12. Tough guy to move on defense, he's very strong, but yeah..that shot. Gonna be at least a few years before this team does much, if they use their draft picks wisely. Originally from Boston and moved just a few years after the start of the Bird era. Good times in the old Garden.

I really like the team right now, here is why:

1. They respect the coach
2. The coach wants defense first
3. This coach understands this next generation
4. Lots of young talent
5. They dont hurt their drafting anymore by being better, in a sense, beating up other teams helps their draft position, notably Nets
