My B1G Power Rankings

1) Ohio State (5-0, 1-0) - Last Week: 1 - No team truly stands out. Ohio State has 172 points and allowed 76. That is the 2nd most in the B1G (Indiana 1st) but has far better difference than Ind.
3) Northwestern (5-0, 1-0) - Last Week: 3 - Wildcats' defense is the best in the B1G. They have only allowed 35 points total in 5 games. They don't need a good offense with a defense like that.
2) Michigan State (5-0, 1-0) - Last Week: 2 - The Spartans looked good during the game vs Purdue. I saw a blowout going on. Then next thing I knew, Purdue was down by a touchdown with time left.
4) Michigan (4-1, 1-0) - Last Week: 5 - The Wolverines' first week defeat looking better as Utah is Top 10 undefeated. Michigan has allowed 3 more points and scored 12 more points than Northwestern. Guess who Michigan plays next week.
5) Iowa (5-0, 1-0) - Last Week: 6 - Only team in FBS to not allow a rushing touchdown. Kicker can kick a clutch 57-yarder but misses it from 30-40 yards. 5th 5-0 start in 50 years.
6) Wisconsin (3-2, 0-1) - Last Week: 4 - They lost to a strong Alabama team, that still could very likely make CFP and lost a defensive battle vs undefeated Iowa. Barely made the top six over Indiana.
7) Indiana (4-1, 0-1) - Last Week: 8 - Jumps a spot on a loss. They were undefeated with squeaks against weaker opponents. The Hoosiers have allowed the 2nd most points in the B1G.
8) Penn State (4-1, 1-0) - Last Week: 9 - PSU lost to a good mid-major and had a couple wins vs mid-major. They dominated Rutgers.
9) Illinois (4-1, 1-0) - Last Week: 11 - Illinois makes a 2-spot jump after beating Nebraska. They have blowouts vs Kent State (still winless) and FCS opponent. Got dominated by UNC. Win vs Nebraska is a good one. Could really jump with win at Kinnick.
10) Nebraska (2-3, 0-1) - Last Week: 7 - Not the start many expected. They played teams with good records but are struggling to win. First loss or two I would say "look who they play." 3-out-of-5 is costing them.
11) Minnesota (3-2, 0-1) - Last Week: 10 - Minnesota has only had 1 great week, the first one. Since then they haven't looked good, especially on offense. They have been outscored 101-74.
12) Rutgers (2-2, 0-1) - Last Week: 13 - Bye week helped Rutgers. They have not looked very good. There is a huge gap between 11 and 12 and not much between 12 and 13.
13) Maryland (2-3, 0-1) - Last Week: 12 - Maryland has been outscored 73-6 the past 2 weeks. One of 3 B1G teams to be outscored. Schedule good teams, but has looked horrible vs them.
14) Purdue (1-4, 0-1) - Last Week: 14 - Near rally vs MSU doesn't help them. Lost by double digits to Marshall and VT. Only win is vs FCS.

I agree with the bold picks, but not the point guesses.

Eichorst has come out and said his Nebraska plan is going just as he expected. He is a genius after all, just ask him how smart he is.

My B1G Power Rankings

1) Ohio State (6-0, 2-0) - Last Week: 1 - Elliott is the 2nd most consistent back behind Fournett. Buckeyes are undefeated. They won by 21 while scoring 59. Offense is starting to look a lot better.
2) Michigan (5-1, 2-0) - Last Week: 4 - Michigan's loss is the only think keeping them from passing Ohio State. But three straight shutouts is down right impressive.
3) Iowa (6-0, 2-0) - Last Week: 5 - Iowa has become the biggest mystery in the B1G. Beathard is a great leader and Canzeri looks more impressive each week. But how good is this Iowa team, really? They jump struggling MSU and NW who got shutout.
4) Michigan State (6-0, 2-0) - Last Week: 3 - After close games with the two worst teams in the conference in back-to-back weeks. I could forgive one bad game or weeks apart, but two in a row?
5) Northwestern (5-1, 1-1) - Last Week: 2 - Heading into the Michigan game, Northwestern gave up 35 points in 5 games combined. Michigan scored more than that in 1 game and Northwestern's offense couldn't answer.
6) Wisconsin (4-2, 1-1) - Last Week: 6 - Wisconsin has a brutal defense led by Schobert. Defense saved them at the end of the game after a missed field goal. Offense needs to find a way to be more consistent.
7) Penn State (5-1, 2-0) - Last Week: 8 - Penn State has struggled against weaker opponents, but they are noticeably better. If they keep winning, they will rise quick.
8) Minnesota (4-2, 1-1) - Last Week: 11 - Big jump after dominating win. They showed they have a defense against TCU, but now we saw they have an offense against anybody.
9) Illinois (4-2, 1-1) - Last Week: 9 - Illinois does not move after they lost. They played a great 2nd half but a 4th quarter turnover was costly. Tough 4th quarter team.
10) Indiana (4-2, 0-2) - Last Week: 7 - The Hoosiers looked impressive vs Ohio State and that is about it. Their OOC schedule was one of B1G's weakest.
11) Nebraska (2-4, 0-2) - Last Week: 10 - Truth is, Nebraska is one of the better teams on this list, but they can't seem to get a win with all the luck in the world.
12) Rutgers (3-2, 0-1) - Last Week: 12 - Rutgers could have made the upset of the week, but they lost again
13) Maryland (2-4, 0-2) - Last Week: 13 - Maryland seem to hang with the Buckeyes, then 2nd half came around. Coach Edsall might have coached his last game as a Terps coach.
14) Purdue (1-6, 0-2) - Last Week: 14 - Close game vs MSU didn't save them last week and they got destroyed this week by Minnesota

welp...
neither of us was wrong...
:tsk:
I can't explain wtf's gone wrong with NEB; but all 6 of MSU's victories were pyrrhic in nature...
would not bet on either team ending the season happy...
(my couch knows it's living on borrowed time.)

repeat: how's yall's basketball program looking?

Wow, I didn't realized Canzeri was #12 in rushing yards and 2nd in the B1G.

Damn, The Corn have quickly become bottom feeders in the B1G. Tell me again why the conference chose them?

Hopefully Iowa can win this week. NW seems to always run our defense ragged and now with Iowa losing their best D-lineman for the season, it could open things up for opposing offenses.

I'm not as high on Northwestern as some people are -- especially in the polls. I think the West comes down to Wisconsin and Iowa and I think Northwestern starts dropping games pretty soon. I think they match up well with Minnesota and should be of similar strength. I don't think they're a top 20 team right now.
Just saying, spot on -- me
