My B1G Power Rankings
1) Ohio State (5-0, 1-0) - Last Week: 1 - No team truly stands out. Ohio State has 172 points and allowed 76. That is the 2nd most in the B1G (Indiana 1st) but has far better difference than Ind.
3) Northwestern (5-0, 1-0) - Last Week: 3 - Wildcats' defense is the best in the B1G. They have only allowed 35 points total in 5 games. They don't need a good offense with a defense like that.
2) Michigan State (5-0, 1-0) - Last Week: 2 - The Spartans looked good during the game vs Purdue. I saw a blowout going on. Then next thing I knew, Purdue was down by a touchdown with time left.
4) Michigan (4-1, 1-0) - Last Week: 5 - The Wolverines' first week defeat looking better as Utah is Top 10 undefeated. Michigan has allowed 3 more points and scored 12 more points than Northwestern. Guess who Michigan plays next week.
5) Iowa (5-0, 1-0) - Last Week: 6 - Only team in FBS to not allow a rushing touchdown. Kicker can kick a clutch 57-yarder but misses it from 30-40 yards. 5th 5-0 start in 50 years.
6) Wisconsin (3-2, 0-1) - Last Week: 4 - They lost to a strong Alabama team, that still could very likely make CFP and lost a defensive battle vs undefeated Iowa. Barely made the top six over Indiana.
7) Indiana (4-1, 0-1) - Last Week: 8 - Jumps a spot on a loss. They were undefeated with squeaks against weaker opponents. The Hoosiers have allowed the 2nd most points in the B1G.
8) Penn State (4-1, 1-0) - Last Week: 9 - PSU lost to a good mid-major and had a couple wins vs mid-major. They dominated Rutgers.
9) Illinois (4-1, 1-0) - Last Week: 11 - Illinois makes a 2-spot jump after beating Nebraska. They have blowouts vs Kent State (still winless) and FCS opponent. Got dominated by UNC. Win vs Nebraska is a good one. Could really jump with win at Kinnick.
10) Nebraska (2-3, 0-1) - Last Week: 7 - Not the start many expected. They played teams with good records but are struggling to win. First loss or two I would say "look who they play." 3-out-of-5 is costing them.
11) Minnesota (3-2, 0-1) - Last Week: 10 - Minnesota has only had 1 great week, the first one. Since then they haven't looked good, especially on offense. They have been outscored 101-74.
12) Rutgers (2-2, 0-1) - Last Week: 13 - Bye week helped Rutgers. They have not looked very good. There is a huge gap between 11 and 12 and not much between 12 and 13.
13) Maryland (2-3, 0-1) - Last Week: 12 - Maryland has been outscored 73-6 the past 2 weeks. One of 3 B1G teams to be outscored. Schedule good teams, but has looked horrible vs them.
14) Purdue (1-4, 0-1) - Last Week: 14 - Near rally vs MSU doesn't help them. Lost by double digits to Marshall and VT. Only win is vs FCS.
