Just an FYI for everyone saying michigan can't beat OSU because they can't recruit well:

Not all 4 stars are created equal though.

Top 100 players during that same time:

Ohio State - 35
Michigan - 15

Them being Michigan doesn't matter. The history, prestige, all that crap doesn't matter. Everyone in the B1G is flush with cash and resources, except Maryland, because they suck as an athletic department. Most schools in the B1G have great facilities now... because everyone has more money than they know what to do with it.

And yes, MSU has beaten you 3 times this decade. But two of those times weren't against great OSU teams. The 2015 game still makes me shake my head. Michigan won in 2011 like MSU and nearly won in 2013.
Wait so 2013, a team that was #2 in the country wasn’t a great team? If wins over a top 5 team at the end of the season isn’t a quality win, what the hell is?

And 2015 OSU went to Ann Arbor and absolutely boat-raced michigan. Michigan State played a perfect game against us that year with a backup QB, I'll give credit where it's due. That's the point though. We were clearly a more talented team than Michigan State that year, but they flatout out-coached us in all facets. Harbaugh has failed miserably in this regard.

Also, check out post #3677. I haven't looked it up, but I'm absolutely positive that michigan is the only school in the B1G that has gotten more 4/5* recruits than Ohio State from 2016-2019, yet they can't beat us at all. As I've said before, it's about developing kids, and that falls right on Harbaugh's shoulders, another area he has failed badly.

Also, if history and prestige don't matter, how does Notre Dame recruit so well?

ND and Michigan recruit similarly. It's good but not elite. We don't get alot of top 100 talent. We get 4 stars, but there's a difference between a 4 star rated the 30th best player in a class and the 300th best player in a class. Our 2021 class is off to a great start with 7 top 100 kids. If that keeps up and we add similar type players, we'll be looking good for 2022 and 2023.

The 2013 team was osu's 2nd worst team under Urban IMO. With 2012 being his worst. It was still a great win, Harbaugh didn't have the luxury to face an OSU team like that though. That was back when the B1G was awful too. OSU faced one ranked team during the regular season and beat Wisconsin by a TD.

Who would have thought that teams that got blown the fuck out by Iowa and Purdue were all time great teams.

This would actually matter if OSU's team was made up of top 100 players and that's all. We have so many crucial players who were not top 100, quite a few not even 4*, and we've had more than a few top 100 guys not end up panning out. That's the difference.

I didn't say they were all time great teams. I just said IMO, those teams were better than his 2013 team.

Yeah ND has had a bunch of guys not in the top 100 become crucial pieces too. Alot of teams do. The difference is OSU is just much more talented than Michigan. And every other team not named Bama and Clemson, and a couple others.

I'm probably penalizing Nebraska a bit for National Media hype, preseason ranking, frost hype, and few irrational fans I've seen

There are no rational fans. Fan is short for fanatic. Being irrational is part of the game.

Michigan fans are more annoying to me because they have no problem talking shit about Fleck and how he sucks as a coach because Wisconsin bombed Minnesota but ignore the fact that Minnesota kept the game closer than michigan did despite having a much less talented team.

Why the fuck would Michigan fans talk anything about that game? It doesn't have a damn thing to do with them, other than maybe they thought it would provide some ointment for their asses after OSU reamed their team, again.

People were saying that Fleck was doing a good job at Minnesota but then it was “look what’s going on during Wisconsin game. See he sucks too. Harbaugh is better.” Ignoring the fact that Michigan is Michigan and Minnesota is not at that level of “prestige” in the minds of people.

So they're still living in a fantasy world...got it

It was a solid offensive team for sure. Defense shaky tho
