My B1G Power Rankings after Week 5

1. Ohio State (6-0, 3-0) - LW 1 - Dwayne Haskins leads the highest scoring team in the B1G. They are a TD away from 300 points. They have scored 40+ points in five of their games and nobody has reached more than 28 points on them this season.
2. Michigan (5-1, 3-0) - LW 3 - The Wolverines is the only team in the B1G East to not allow 100+ points and are 3rd in PA in the B1G. They have outscored their B1G opponents 118-48.
3. Penn State (4-1, 1-1) - LW 2 - Nittany Lions drops a spot on their bye week, but they are right there. Their only loss was a heart-breaker against Ohio State. They are 2nd in the B1G in scoring and Michigan is the only B1G East team to allow less points.
4. Wisconsin (4-1, 2-0) - LW 4 - Jonathan Taylor's 100+ rushing yards in every game is on the line as he faces the strong defense of Michigan. Wisconsin has allowed the least amount of points in the B1G
5. Iowa (4-1, 1-1) - LW 7 - The Hawkeyes are #2 in the B1G in points allowed. Their offense is definitely centered around the hands of their tight ends. Iowa's DL is one of the best as well.
6. Maryland (3-2, 1-1) - LW 5 - The Terps have lost 2 of their last 3 games. They have scored more points than any B1G West team, but they have allowed more than 5 B1G West teams. Ty Johnson had a great 98 yard kickoff return for a TD.
7. Northwestern (2-3, 2-1) - LW 12 - Huge win for the Wildcats against the Spartans as they break a 3-game winning streak. Even though they have a losing record now, they are the only B1G West team that is just one game down on Wisconsin and have Nebraska and Rutgers before they play Wisconsin.
8. Michigan State (3-2, 1-1) - LW 6 - If MSU's loss was a nail-biter, I might have them still above Northwestern. But it really wasn't. However, MSU still has a strong defense, 3rd in B1G East in PF.
9. Indiana (4-2, 1-2) - LW 9 - The Hoosiers have lost 2 of their last 3 games. The two losses wouldn't be so costly, since it was vs Michigan State and Ohio State. But their win was a 7-point win against Rutgers.
10. Purdue (2-3, 1-1) - LW 10 - A bye week doesn't hurt or help the Boilermakers. They have Illinois next and then a tough stretch after that. However, Blough is looking like a good QB and Rondale Moore could be the best B1G's best WR.
11. Minnesota (3-2, 0-2) - LW 8 - Injuries have a major impact on this Gopher team. They gave up over 40 points in both of their B1G games. They did score 31 points on Iowa's strong scoring defense.
12. Illinois (3-2, 1-1) - LW 11 - I have to say I enjoy watching AJ Bush play. He is not a great QB, but he is fun to watch. They have lost two of their last 3 games and a blowout loss to Penn State doesn't help. However, they look better than they have in last few years.
13. Nebraska (0-5, 0-3) - LW 13 - There is a big gap after #12. It is tough not putting the Huskers as the #14 but Rutgers win came vs Texas State. I think it is safe to say Nebraska is on a rebuilding year.
14. Rutgers (1-5, 0-3) - LW 14 - Rutgers is the only team in the B1G to give up 200 points so far this season. They are the only team not to score 100 points this season.

Our secondary is pretty bad, going to end up costing us a game I feel.

Watching them make Indiana WRs look like Randy Moss was incredibly frustrating.

Noah Fant's dad is complaining about how Iowa is using him.

Noah Fant has the most receptions on the team this season.
3rd in receiving yards this season, the other TE is 1st.
Has 5 TDs this season on a team with 9 receiving TDs.

Yeah, how horrible it is how they use him.

Honestly i agree with him . Fant should be much more involved . We seem to forget about him til the red zone. With his size and speed we could be using him in much more creative ways

Sounds like a Jimmy Graham type. How are his blocking skills?

Quite good actually . Iowa has the luxury of having 2 really really good tight ends so that provides flexibility in how you use them but we don't seem to do that much .

Neither of them go to Nebraska

If you're referring to LP, killing somebody while already in prison doesn't count.

All LP ever did was beat up a chick and run over some kids with his car. Way different

I suppose that would depend on how creative you're talking about:

I love Sound Off! I didn't watch it this week though. What is funny is that what usually bugs him is people trolling something else. So, it's kind of funny that he used it to troll Nebraska.

This could be a fun week in the B1G. I can see 4-5 games that have a lot of potential. Three are good matchups at different times.

All times are central time.

My ranking from most exciting to least exciting.

Should be good
6:30 - Wisconsin at Michigan
11:00 - Iowa at Indiana
2:30 - Purdue at Illinois

Could be good, could be bad
2:30 - Michigan State at Penn State
11:00 - Nebraska at Northwestern

If these games are good, it probably means Buckeyes and Terps are playing bad.
11:00 - Minnesota at Ohio State
11:00 - Rutgers at Maryland

I'm shocked!!! Been a long time since Illinois was in a "should be good" game.
