Maybe stating the obvious, but my guess is Ben Johnson had a say in this trade too.

Ok...So that's one. Now the C from Atlanta and the kid from LSU at guard and then we're off.

There is at least a chance Bears view Jackson as the center.

I wonder if he’s seen as a starter here or not.

If they traded for a guy they now owe 17 million too and see him as the backup...we have bigger problems than I suspected.

Or 9 million. Still too much if you think he won't start and you have 3 openings on your line.

He was a pro bowl injury replacement. We had Trubisky in the pro bowl....

The problem is not the sixth round pick (Fields pick maybe?) The problem is his cap hit this season is 15 million. Two more years of contract at 9 million. So even if he is released, the number is still 15. Pretty sure we could have signed the best out there for 15 million for a season.

This is correct.

We Im pretty sure you cant get the best olineman out there for 15 mill, but I get what youre saying.......
Top ten ends with 3 guys making 16 million a year, but yeah, I guess whoever signs a contract this year will want to be the highest paid guard in the NFL.

I misread you're post......I was actually thinking tackles, not guards.....but I can see a guard or two getting 20+ mill per......

Trading for Joe Thuney. What did we give up is what I'm trying to figure out.

Looks like a 4th rounder?

It's going to happen...If we sign this Center, I'm going to believe again. And then we're going to go 6-11. Goddamnit.

So last year we signed the Rams old center, now we sign their old guard. (I actually saw a picture of Johnson today snapping the football).
Now KC has developed a new guard behind Thuney and made him available to save cap money.

Its sad that this is where we are, buying expensive used trucks because our drafts for the O line have been shit.

Big upgrade, could be a big upgrade at RB with 10, but there needs to be a plan to replace these guys in the next year or two.

Thuney was voted team MVP of the Chiefs by his teammates and was an all-pro last season. Played both guard and tackle. I don't know what more you could want in a player. I understand he isn't young any longer, but this take is trash.

"KC has developed a new guard behind Thuney" - who is this "new guard"? Hmm. Me thinks you're making things up again!

(Hurry! Run to the KC depth chart to find the name of some random, young backup interior O-lineman last season that you can pass off as this "mysterous player" you've invented!)
