A running back, of course. We’re gonna package both 2nds and trade up into the 1st for something, aren’t we?
The problem is you need a willing trade partner. I'm sure Poles put out some feelers, but obviously no takers. The most frustrating thing is you could have traded back and still gotten this guy
Definitely possible. I’m sure they didn’t want to move behind Indy, just in case. Which would have left them limited on who they could trade with. The problem is you need a willing trade partner. I'm sure Poles put out some feelers, but obviously no takers.

Well I've already stated my feelings, but it's immediately water under the Bridge for me. In Ben Johnson I trust.Shooting from the hip a bit, but other than the Dallas pick of an OG , which we don’t really need, I’ve liked every player picked after us more than what we picked…
I'm sure way before we were on the clock Poles was on the phone. It didn't happen, doesn't matter anymore. Get over it.The pick was in when there was still 4 minutes on the clock. Which leads you to believe they weren’t moving off it.

True. And you're doing a masterful job!!Or I can bitch and moan because that’s what message boards are for

Fair enough. I tend to first dislike a pick if it's not my choice, but then immediately give the player a chance. And give the coaching staff a chance as well. Because this seems to me to be a Ben Johnson pick, or at the very least he had a heavy hand in the choice. I loved that we hired Johnson, so even tho I'm not whippy about the pick, I'm more than willing to see how this plays out.Sorry. Being a fan doesn’t require you to swallow all the bullshit your team feeds you. I’ll trust this franchise when they start proving they can win and win consistently. Until then I question everything.

Absolutely! Won’t hate on the player! But just seems like we pissed away a top 10 pick trying to make us Detroit, when we have been told since the Ben Johnson hire that he was going to formulate a more customized offense around Caleb…Fair enough. Then perhaps we're more on the same page than I initially thought. Because no matter how much I like or dislike a draft pick, because he's now a Bear he gets 100% of my support until proven otherwise. And JFTR, I was NOT for taking either Loveland or Warren for that matter. None of my 10,000 mocks I posted in here had me taking either one with the 10th pick. But for whatever number of reasons, the Bears brass thought differently. So rather than be all bummed out, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Besides, we still have tomorrow with 3 picks on the table. Let's see how that all plays out.The player is gonna have a chance whether I criticize the pick or not.
I will root for him to be great. Like I would any player in a Bears uniform.
