For SU...that's a pretty big win for this year. It may have put them in the dance.

I'm just hoping SU closes out strong and gives us something to look forward to next year. We have a lot to look forward to regardless, returning probably everyone (other than the lone senior in Christmas), but if we can start playing hot and show a lot of potential for next year, that'd be a nice way to end the year

Funny you should mention that. Did you watch last night's game with Louisville. Cooney makes his first shot; a 3 and then proceeded to miss the next 6 or so. By then, Syracuse is down by 8 in the 1st half. Cooney didn't shoot another shot for the rest of the night. Possibly JB read our posts. LOL. Gbenijie and Christmas do most of the work and Syracuse wins by about 10. Cooney is a good ball handler; Gbenijie is the real talent along with Christmas.

I think this is a pretty good assesment of SU today. I/we will miss Christmas. It's too bad it took him all four years to break out and then in this year, SU takes a post season ban.

Anyways, I think the freshman and sophs are playing very well and expect SU to be a real threat over the next couple of years.

Its going to be interesting to see how they finish off 2015 in recruiting and how well they do in 2016. I've heard that they have no chance at landing Harry Giles.

To Roy's credit, he doesn't really recruit kids that have character issues (someone please correct me if I'm wrong. It won't hurt my feelings one bit!). On the rare occassion, that he does sign a player that ends up being a problem, he is usually dismissed (Greensboro's Will Graves comes to mind) Even before these past few years, UNC fans always questioned the "toughness" of Roy's teams (minus his first two years, in which the majority of those players were recruited by Matt Doherty) The '09 title shut them up for a couple of years , but they seem to back in full force now.

John Wall was from Raleigh, ranked #1 in his class, yet the only North Carolina school that recruited him was NC State due to perceived "character issues".

I have heard that Giles hates UNC, mostly because of their academic issues and the attitude the UNC coaches have about it. It also didn't help that apparently UNC dissed (I'm not sure how or why) Giles' HS teammate Kwe Parker (who is is a Top 50 recruit in the class of 2016)

I don't know about that. He's got about 15-20 schools he's interested in attending right now, and offers from just about all of them too. I haven't heard he's eliminated anyone yet. When he narrows his choices we'll know more.
