Honestly, if y'all ever see me make a post like the OP, alert the mods to call 9-1-1, as I have either been abducted or am having a stroke.

Music was still okay in the 90's but started to suck by the end of the decade.

Maybe a tad.....but it's still easily >>>>>>> 90's

Imho.
I'd agree with this but only because the pop music was better in the 80s. I think the rock and hip hop were just as good in the 90s plus you have some decent electronic music. The pop in the 90s is some of the worst music ever made, though, and the rap rock trend in the late 90s is kinda embarrassing.

Yeah, I'm looking at the 90s pop charts and there are only a few songs that were able to penetrate the top 10 throughout the decade that I'd call 'good'. Sweet Child of Mine, The Crossroads. Candle in the Wind. Under the Bridge. Tears in Heaven

90s pop music is just the worst

They give the 80s too much love for my taste.
One thing about the 80's. That decade had a ton of one or two hit wonders. Like in the 70's you buy a Pink Floyd album (or Clapton, the Stones, whoever) you listen to the whole thing. Can anyone even name 2 songs by Tommy Tutone, Nena,Big Country, etc.,etc.etc. ?

Edit: Actually I just googled it and I could not have been more wrong. The 80's had the least one hit wonders, the 60's had the most. It had to have something to do with MTV.

No limit really started hitting in the late 90's changing the way music is distributed and giving more royalties to the artists instead of the greedy music label

Holy fuck... This dude makes a thread about 90s music, starts of rambling about Paula Abdul, works in Ace of Base, and somehow manages to skip everything relevant about music of the decade.

When you bring up alternative for the first time in 1996 and highlight the goo goo dolls, you’re doing it wrong.

Rap and Hip Hip were huge in the 1980s, not sure why it was noteworthy. The big difference in the 1990s was the change from brag rap and break dance to gangster rap in the 1990s. Janet Jackson's defining moment came in 1986. Her first album was huge. And 1990s was all about grunge. Nirvana and the defining sound from the 1990s that came from it, and the death of 1980s hair metal which dominated the mid to late 1980s
