Mamba, dumbass posters like Corn Hole fans seem to think CFB began in 2010, that's all. It's tough to be a perennial power every year, it just is. Every powerhouse has suffered. Bama suffered for 17 years before Saban turned it around, Miami has gone down the drain, USC is hurting, Florida State has joined Miami, but at least the Seminoles have won a couple of ACC titles and have won a BCS bowl lately, but FSU is nothing like they were back in the day. Mack Brown has had 1 losing season in 16 years. I think he can be forgiven for having a couple of seasons that aren't up to Texas's expectations.

That was Oregon Ducks not me. I know its confusing.

I am not a huge fan of Mack Brown, I think we could do better, but I also remember what it was like in the years right before Mack took control. Texas under Mackovick and McWilliams was 72-54-2, Under Mack they went 150-43. Mack was a master recruiter, still is but his coaching days have long been gone. He acts more like the CEO coach and relies too much on his coordinators. The problem Texas has is that the people they hire for coordinators are just using Texas to get a quick jump into head coaching, there is no stability. Normally when this happens the Head Coach can step in and start coaching the team, but Mack I believe let dust build up on his playbook for way too long and this is why we have struggled so much. But to say he is one of the top 5 worst coaches in college football is wrong. People assume recruits just flock here, but if that was the case then explain 87-97 for Texas? Mack made recruits flock here and still does, he also laid the framework for whoever replaces him to make an easy transition, unlike his predecessors. Just my two cents here.

THIS ^^^^^^ I was a student at The 40 Acres during the dark times (the 90's) and remember in the late 80's when Baylor was dropping 50 + pts and UofH was dropping 60 + pts when they had Andre Ware. Mack Brown revived the Longhorn football program. Again, he's only had 1 losing season and has won a BCS title and played for another one. We've had the youngest team the last 2 years and Mack has been clamoring about how 2013 would be our run at a BCS bowl and 2014 we'll contend for the BCS title.

Incorrect. We would have done much better.

Nebraska gave up almost all its yardage and points on the ground. They were the number 1 passing defense in the country last year.

Are you really comparing the passing offenses in the B1G to the Big 12? Surely you're not this stupid.

its fact. The scale says he adds no value. That is what 0 means.

Yes this was your response to my statement that he's middle of the pack at the very worst.

The CFB Matrix guy was on a Nebraska sports radio show talking about the scale and he said those exact words: "middle of the pack".

He said he's not great, but he's not bad either.

Your interpretation is that because the scale says 0, he's a horrible coach. That's not how it works.

Nebraska never had any trouble under Bo defending Big 12 passing offenses.

In fact, combining statistics from the past four seasons, Nebraska ranks second nationally in pass efficiency defense, fourth in pass defense, 11th in scoring.

Reeaaaallly struggled against those scary Big 12 offenses.

Mack Brown = Great Recruiter

He also over the last few years has done a turrble job building up his players. I watched a few Tejas games last year and they didnt even know how to tackle.

Imagine what Chip at lil ol Oregon would do if he could get Mack Brown like recruits. And that can be said for 95% of CFB teams, save tOSU, USC, Michigan, Bama, FSU, FLA and LSU.

Coach Petersen with Tejas' recruits??? He may never lose a game.

most likely, because teams decided to run more against Nebraska. Nebraska finished 20th in Passing S&P and 36th in rushing. Your comments do show a certain lack of information. KSU, Baylor, OSU, and Texas were all good running teams. Amazing how many people see a spread offense and think it is a passing offense.

What the hell, I have some time before I leave for lunch. Passing offenses NU and Texas faced last year and ranking:

Nebraska

#35 PSU
#85 MSU
#94 Michigan
#99 Iowa
#101 tOSU
#105 Minny
#106 Northwestern
#111 Wiscy

Texas

#2 TTECH
#4 Baylor
#5 OU
#7 Okie State
#10 WVU
#61 TCU
#79 ISU
#89 KSU
#113 KU

Put Texas in the B1G last year and we would lead the nation in pass defense.

That door swings both ways. The argument can be made that the B1G is a MUCH stronger conference defensively.
